The title of this writing is “ A Descriptive Study On Freshmen’s English Learning Motivation And Strategies At English Education Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang. The research conducted to answer questions 1. What are the freshmen’s types of motivation in learnig English at English education study program of Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang? 2. What are the fershmen’s strategies in learning English at English education study program of Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang? The thesis focuses on the motivation and strategy in learning English . The data will be taken by giving questionnaire as the isntrument. The participants were 12 students. The aims of this research are 1. To describe the freshmen’s types of motivation in learning English At english education study program of Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang. 2. To describe the freshmen’s strategies in learning English at English education study progran of Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang. Students motivation to learn English because of the fun atmosphere, the teacher who delivered the material well and the material is easy to understand. The factors behind the motivation to learn English as they like the atmosphere of the English class, are interested in the way English is used in conversation, and believe that students will be able to read and understand most of the texts in English if students continue to study them, nervous and confused when students speak in English class, students also feel learning English, is very interesting, besides that students are also motivated to learn a lot English, students very enjoy learning English. The way teachers motivate students begins with teachers realizing the importance of motivation.

A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON CLASSROOM QUESTIONING STRATEGY APPLIED BY ENGLISH TEACHER AT SMP N 1 TAEBENU

This study was conducted to answer two research questions: (1) what are types of questioning strategy applied by English Teacher during learning process? (2) what are the aims of the questioning asked by the teacher?. The aims of this study are: to find out types of questioning strategy applied by English teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Taebenu, to find out the aim of questioning asked by English teacher in learning English at SMP Negeri 1 Taebenu. The subject used in this study is an English teacher. The instruments used in this research are observation and interview. From the result the writer find out four types of questioning strategy applied by English teacher in teaching and learning process: probing questioning, factual questioning, procedural questioning and devergent questioning, and there are eleven aims of questioning asked by the teacher: to arouse learning concerning a topic, to ask a students to clarify a vague comment, to prompt student to see a concept from another perspective, to prompt the students to explore attitudes, values, or feeling, to ask student to refine a statement or idea, to prompt students to support their assertions and interpretations, to direct students to respond to one another, to prompt students to investigate a thought process, to ask students to predict possible outcomes, to review and summarize previous lessons, to evaluate student preparation and check on homework preparation. The writer concludes that four types of questioning and eleven aims of questioning are considered to be applied by English teacher to measure the students understanding or knowledge.

The main objective of this study was to find out the effect of Intrapersonal Intelligence strategy, in improving students’ writing descriptive paragraph. This study was conducted at SMAN 2 kota Kupang, with the population was second grade students and the sample was class XI IPA 2 and XI IPA 5 of SMAN 2 Kupang. The number of population was 63 students. The method used in this study was a quantitative method and the design was a quasi-experimental design. The instrument was obtained using a written test. Data collection techniques are found by calculating the average score on the pre-test and post-test in experimental group and control group. The results of this study was indicated that there was a significant difference between experimental group and control group with the mean score in experimental group was 70.6 and the mean score in control group was 50.6. Whereas in the paired test samples, there were significant results between the pre-test and post-test based on the result of the value, the value of t-test (15.8) was higher than the value of t-table (2.058) with df = N-2. It means that the hypothesis(Ho) was rejected and the hypothesis(H1) was accepted. This showed that the effect of Intrapersonal Intelligence strategy can improve students’ writing skills in descriptive paragraph. The research question has been answered. In addition, the total score of experimental group was 2357 and the total score of control group was 1620. The writing descriptive paragraph, develop students’ way of thinking to be broader and dynamic mindset. Therefore, Intrapersonal Intelligence strategy can be used as an alternative teaching strategy, in improving students’ writing descriptive paragraph.

Indonesia yang perkembangan bisnisnya semakin maju yang ditandai dengan banyaknya perusahaan yang mengikut sertakan diri dalam go public. Bursa efek adalah pasar di mana terjadi jual beli efek dari suatu perusahaan. Bursa efek didirikan untuk menyelenggarakan atau menyediakan sarana jual beli efek. Di Indonesia dikenal dengan nama Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). LQ45 merupakan salah satu indeks yang ada di Bursa Efek Indonesia. LQ45 adalah representasi, atau cerminan harga saham dari 45 emiten yang ada di BEI. Emiten yang dipilih, ditentukan berdasarkan pertimbangan likuiditas tertinggi dan kapitalisasi pasar terbesar dengan kriteria lain yang ditentukan.
Yang menjadi persoalan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pengaruh corporate strategy, cash holding dan kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba serta bagaimana pengaruh corporate strategy, cash holding dan kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba dengan dividen sebagai variabel pemoderasi pada perusahaan LQ45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2019–2022. Berdasarkan persoalan penelitian tersebut mana penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh corporate strategy, cash holding dan kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba dan untuk mengetahui pengaruh corporate strategy, cash holding dan kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba dengan dividen sebagai variabel pemoderasi pada perusahaan LQ45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2019–2022.
Laba merupakan salah satu informasi yang disajikan dalam laporan keuangan. Menurut Yahaya et al., (2020) manajemen laba adalah upaya yang dilakukan oleh pihak manajemen untuk mempengaruhi atau memanupulasi laba yang dilaporkan dengan menggunakan metode akuntansi tertentu atau mempercepat transaksi pengeluaran atau pendapatan, atau menggunakan metode lain yang dirancang untuk mempengaruhi laba jangka pendek.
Corporate strategy adalah strategi yang mencerminkan seluruh arah perusahaan yang bertujuan menciptakan pertumbuhan bagi perusahaan secara keseluruhan dan bagi manajemen berbagai macam bisnis lini produk (Whelen dan Hunger 2008:15). Cash holding diberi simbol CASH. Menurut Haniftian & Dillak (2020) cash holding adalah aset perusahaan yang paling mudah untuk digunakan bagi kegiatan perusahaan. Berdasarkan kemudahan penggunaan aset ini maka kebijakan cash holding yang dikendalikan oleh manajer akan meningkatkan motivasi manajer untuk mementingkan kepentingan pribadinya dengan cara melakukan manajemen laba.
Menurut Pasaribu (2016:156) kepemilikan manajerial adalah pemilik/pemegang saham oleh pihak manajemen perusahaan yang secara aktif berperan dalam pengambilan keputusan perusahaan. Menurut Senata (2016) dividen dapat didefinisikan sebagai pembagian laba bersih perusahaan yang didistribusikan kepada pemegang saham atas persetujuan Rapat Umum Pemegang Saham (RUPS). Dalam penelitian ini dividend payout ratio digunakan sebagai pengukur dividen. Menurut Murhadi (2013) dividend payout ratio adalah rasio untuk mengukur proporsi dividen yang dibagikan terhadap pendapatan bersih suatu perusahaan.
Populasi yang menjadi objek dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh perusahaan LQ45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2019-2022 yaitu sebanyak 60 perusahaan. Teknik penentuan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu (Sugiyono, 2010). Berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria pemilihan sampel yang telah ditentukan maka terdapat 10 perusahaan yang akan digunakan sebagai sampel dalam penelitian ini.
Teknik pengumpulan data adalah dengan cara studi pustaka dan dokumentasi yaitu data yang didapatkan secara tidak langsung dari objek yang diteliti. Data yang digunakan berupa laporan tahunan dan laporan keuangan konsolidasian perusahaan LQ45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2019-2022 yang dipublikasikan oleh website resmi Bursa Efek Indonesia (www.idx.co.id).
Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif yang selanjutnya pengujian hipotesis menggunakan bantuan software Partial Least Square (PLS) versi 3.00. Analisis PLS-SEM biasanya terdiri dari dua sub model yaitu model pengukuran atau sering disebut outer model dan model struktural atau sering disebut inner model. Model pengukuran menunjukan bagaimana variabel manifest atau observed variable merepresentasi variabel laten untuk diukur. Sedangkan model struktural menunjukan kekuatan estimasi antar variabel laten dan konstruk (Ghozali, 2017).
Berdasarkan hasil uji hipoteis, dimana jika nilai t-statistik <1,96 maka hipotesis dalam penelitian ini ditolak dan sebaliknya jika nilai t-statistik >1,96 maka hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai t-statistik untuk pengaruh corporate strategy terhadap manajemen laba adalah sebesar 0,064 <1,96, nilai t-statistik untuk pengaruh cash holding terhadap manajemen laba adalah sebesar 0,088 <1,96 dan nilai t-statistik untuk pengaruh kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba adalah sebesar 0,905 <1,96. Kemudian nilai t-statistik utuk pengaruh corporate strategy terhadap manajemen laba dengan dividen sebagai variabel pemoderasi adalah sebesar 0,021 <1,96. Nilai t-statistik untuk pengaruh cash holding terhadap manajemen laba dengan dividen sebagai variabel pemoderasi adalah sebesar 0,130 <1,96 dan nilai t-statistik untuk pengaruh kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba dengan dividen sebagai variabel pemoderasi adalah sebesar 0,274 <1,96.
Maka kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah corporate strategy, cash holding dan kepemilikan manajerial tidak berpengaruh terhadap manajemen laba dan dividen tidak mampu memoderasi hubungan antara corporate strategy, cash holding dan kepemilikan manajerial terhadap manajemen laba pada perusahaan LQ45 yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2019–2022.

The purpose of this study was to find out the English teacher's strategy in attracting students' attention in learning English at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. The method used in this research is qualitative method. research data taken from SMP N 10 Kupang. The researcher directly made observations, identified and classified them, then analyzed the results based on the teacher's strategy theory. As a result, the author found several things related to the teacher's strategy during the learning process. The results of this study indicate that the English teacher's strategy at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang received five teacher strategies, namely hissing strategy, listening strategy, stopping strategy and clapping strategy. The suggestion from this research is that English teachers should be able to choose what strategies relate to students' abilities, the need to attract Students attention.

“AN ANALYSIS OF TURN TAKING STRATEGIES OF TEACHER AND 8th GRADE STUDENTS’ INTERACTIONS IN ENGLISH CLASSROOM AT SMPS SWADAYA TARUS” ABSTRACT (Unbanu Febni) 1 (BireJos)2 (Kamengko Daniel)3 Turn- taking Strategy is a type of teaching and learning strategy in formof conversation and discourse where participants speak one at a time in alternating turns. This Study Entitled: “AN ANALYSIS OF TURN TAKING STRATEGIES OF TEACHER AND 8th GRADE STUDENTS’ INTERACTIONS IN ENGLISH CLASSROOM AT SMPS SWADAYA TARUS”. The purposes of this research are: (1) to identify types of turn taking strategies used by teacherandstudents in English class of SMPS Swadaya Tarus. 2) To identify the dominant strategy of turn taking used by teacherandstudents in the English class. This research is analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method because the writer uses description based on the quality comprehensive in the analysis. Based on the metaphor classification by the theory of Yule (2022), the writer found that there are three types of Turn –Taking strategy used by the teacher and students in the English class of SMPS Swadaya Tarus including Overlap, Interruption, and Back – Channel Signal,. Besides the writer also found that Dominant type of Taking strategy used by the teacher and students in the English class of SMPS Swadaya Tarus is Interruption with a number of 21 Responses, followed by Overlapwith12 Responses, and the last type is Back – Channel Signal with 3 Responses. In addition, it is expected thatthe results of this research could be an extra information in studying Teaching and Learning Strategy that focused onTurn Taking strategy and the types of Turn – Taking Strategy.

Nenotek2 Norci Beeh3 The author's title is “Descriptive Study of Factors Influencing Students' English Learning Motivation and Teacher Teaching Strategies Used to Increase Student Learning Motivation in SMP PGRI Haumenibaki” This thesis has two problem formulations which answer the factors that influence learning motivation and strategies teacher in teaching. To answer this question, the authors used a qualitative approach, therefore the data was presented in the form of a questionnaire given to 25 students, the authors found the cause of the influence of student learning motivation and teacher teaching strategies that occurred in the learning process in the classroom and found that they were still less motivated to learn because they are less interested in learning English, the proof is from the results of the questionnaire that there are still many students who answer disagree and overall the teacher's teaching strategy in increasing student learning motivation can be said to be going well. The factors that influence the teacher's strategy in increasing student learning motivation are: Teachers, students, facilities and infrastructure, time allocation and student environment. Therefore it can be said that the factors that influence student motivation and teacher strategies still occur anywhere under any circumstances and cannot be avoided from the educational environment.

The title of this writing is “A Descriptive Study on Virtual Media Used by Lecturers in Teaching a Study at Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang. The research conducted to answer questions what are the types of virtual media used by lecturers? And what are the Lecturers’ strategies applied in using virtual media at Artha Wacana Christian University? The thesis focuses on the teaching and strategy in virtual media. The data was taken by giving questionnaire as the instrument. The participants were 6 Lecturers. The problem led to aim of this research are to find out what are virtual media as used by the lecturers and to find out what are Lecturers do when they are applied in using virtual media at Artha Wacana Christian University. Researchers found five types and five strategies used by lecturers in virtual media based learning, namely: to type video call, video, calling, chatting and audio visual while the strategies there are learning by doing, incidental learning, learning by reflection, case based learning and learning by exploring.In this term of qualitative data, the writer used data collection and field strategy. The research instrument used is a questionnaire response to the use of virtual media. However, in virtual teaching media, not all lecturers like this type because this type is not very supportive of delivering material directly which was make students feel unnoticed or even ignored because they only deliver material through chatting. So, from the types of virtual media studied, the most widely used by lecturers is video call and audio-visual because it can facilitate the virtual learning process that summarizes all things, such as directly stating the material to be conveyed and meeting face to face. Every lecturer wants the best for their students and every student must have a dream that was come true one day when they succeed or become good in the future, they make a list of what to do when they have earned a bachelor’s degree or have been successful in the future. The role of the lecturer in using every existing strategy is very important because the lecturer was be trained and at the same time tested the level of accuracy of students who do not pay attention to their teaching because it is based on virtual media. Teaching virtual media aim are generally able to attract students’ attention. Virtual media also help keep students’ focus on the lesson delivered by the teacher. Increase knowledge, insight, and experience about things that related to the role of lecturers in learning using virtual media, because seeing the realities that exist directly was make it easier to study problems so that they can benefit from this research. The role of virtual media is increasingly important when learning is carried out online or remotely as it is now. And just like other teaching media, virtual media can be made by the teacher himself

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternal yang berkaitan dengan sampah di Pantai Warna Oesapa dan Pantai Lasiana serta menganalisa strategi pengelolaan sampah di Pantai Warna Oesapa dan Pantai Lasiana.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode 3R Reduce atau Menggurangi, Reuse atau Menggunakan and Recyle atau Mendaur ulang (Risma Dwi Arisona 2018). Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan jumlah faktor internal dan eksternal yaitu: 3 (tiga) faktor kekuatan, 3 (tiga) faktor kelemahan (Internal), 3 (tiga) faktor peluang, 3 (tiga) faktor tantangan/ancaman (Eksternal) dan strategi pengelolaan sampah di Pantai Warna Oesapa adalah strategi S-O yang didapat berdasarkan nilai perhitungan analisis SWOT yaitu pada sumbu X dengan nilai 7,5 dan sumbu Y dengan nilai 5,5, sedangkan di Pantai Lasiana jumlah faktor yaitu: 3 (tiga) faktor kekuatan, 3 (tiga) faktor kelemahan (Internal), 3 (tiga) faktor peluang, 3 (tiga) faktor tantangan (eksternal) dan strategi pengelolaan sampah di Pantai Lasiana yaitu strategi S-O yang di dapat berdasarkan nilai perhitungan analisis SWOT yaitu pada sumbu X dengan nilai 5,5 dan sumbu Y dengan nilai 1,5. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to identify internal and external factors related to waste in Oesapa Color Beach and Lasiana Beach and analyse waste management strategy in Oesapa Color Beach and Lasiana Beach. The method used in this study is the 3R Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (Risma Dwi Arisona 2018). Data collection techniques using observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis used in this study is a SWOT. The result of this study indicate of internal and external factors about 3 (three) strength factors, 3 (three) weakness factor for internal factors, 3 (three) opportunity factors, 3 (three) challenges/threats factors for external factors. A waste management strategy that is feasible to be developed at the Oesapa Color Beachis ti use the S-O strategy which is based on the calculated value of SWOT analysis about on the X axis with a value of 7,5 and the Y axis with a value of 5,5, while the number of internal and external factors on the Lasiana Beach is 3 (three) strength factors, 3 (three) weakness factors, 3 (three) opportunity factors, 3 (three) challenge/threat factors for external factors and waste management strategy that is feasible to be developed on the coast of Lasiana Beach is using the S-O strategy based on the value of the SWOT analysis calculation, on the X axis with a value of 5,5 and the Y axis with a value of 1,5.

ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled “The Speech Act and Communication Strategy: A Case Study on Toddlers (3-5 years) in So’e”. The study aimed to find the toddlers (3-5 years old) in their acts of speech and communicating during their attendance in the nursery home of scholling. Elaborating observation in the nursery for one week, on six toddlers, the writer collected qualitative data on the analyzed using descriptive qualitative. In delivering speech, the toddlers unconsciously produced certain strategies so that their wishes conveyed through speech are realized.Within the study, the writer also attempted to see the forms of illocutionary acts made by the toddlers . In addition, the writer sought to determine the speech strategies in the toddlers’ speech. The writer further used interviews (exploratory interview) and recording during her interaction with the toddlers. The findings show that the forms of illocutionary act used by the 3-5 years olds are directive, commissive, assertive, and expresive. Directive are the ones most often produced by the toddlers meanwhile, the communication strategy that was dominantly often performed within their speech was direct speech, meaning that the results showed that 3 years old were able to use direct speech in communicating, while 4 years old tried to use indirect speech in communicating, and 5 years old used indirect speech in communicating. The study suggests that speech and communication strategies of toddlers 3-5 years old that most children use are direct speech. Although sometimes they can produce speech in an indirect form, they till try.

The title of this writing “A Descriptive Study on English Learning Strategy Found in Teaching and Learning Process on Youtube Videos” The research problems of the study were: 1) What are the types of learning strategies applied by the teacher on youtube video? and 2) How are the teacher on Youtube applied the learning strategies in teaching and learning? The method used in this writing is qualitative method. The data of this resarch was taken from three youtube videos. The writer collected and analyzed: 1) The types of learning strategies applied by the teacher on youtube video and 2) The teacher on Youtube applied the learning strategies in teaching and learning. After analyzed the data, the writer found that the types and the meaning of learning strategies applied by the teacher on youtube video namely: 1) Direct learning strategies (direct instruction), 2) Indirect learning strategy (indirect instruction), 3) Interactive learning strategies (interactive instruction) dan 4) Independent learning strategy. The writer hope this research can add more knowledge about teaching strategies in teaching and learning process.

ABSTRACT Politeness strategy is a strategy that used by the people in order to safe and satisfy the hearers’ face (Brown and Levinson, 1987). This research is about a descriptive study of politeness strategies in Mata Najwa Talk Show. The problems of this study are what are the types of politeness strategies that found in Mata Najwa Talk Show in Trans7? and what are the dominant types of politeness strategyin Mata Najwa Talk Show in Trans7?. The objects of this study are the participants in Mata Najwa Talk show in Trans7. This research used descriptive qualitative research and aimed to find the types and the dominant politeness strategies used in Mata Najwa Talk Show. The types of politeness found in theory by Brown and Levinson (1987) namely: Bald On Record Strategy, Positive Politeness, Negative Politeness, and Off Record Strategy. The result of this research showed that all the types of the fourth strategies were used by the participants of Mata Najwa Talk Show. They are bald on record strategy, positive politeness strategy, negative politeness strategy, and off record strategy. From twenty-eight utterances, six utterances as bald on record (e.g. good night and see you) the utterance refers to sub-strategy welcoming and farewells. Ten utterances of them recognized as positive politeness (e.g. interesting!) This utterance is a kind of sub-strategy exaggerate (interest, approval, sympathy with H) of positive politeness. Four utterances as negative politeness (e.g. sorry what was offered for?) this utterance is a type of sub-strategy apologize. And eight utterances as off record strategy (e.g. I want to fight the flow because only died fish that swim follows the flow, hopefully everyone will be a fish that resist the flow) this utterance show the type sub-strategy use metaphoric. Therefore,positive politeness as the dominated strategy that used by the host and the guests in Mata Najwa Talk show.
