The title of this research is “An Analysis on the Context of Situation of Tamtoet Bife’Ceremony (Asking for Marriage) in Uab Meto Language in Taebenu Subdistrict” Contains an analysis and discussion of context of situation in the process of asking for marriage. The aim of the research is to find out and to describe the context of situation in the process of tamtoet bife ceremony ( Asking for Marrige ) by the people in Taebenu Subdistrict. A descriptive qualitativ method was applied for this purpose. In finding the date, observation was done on 9th on November 2022. While doing the observation, the researcher recorded the process of asking for marriage. The context of situation such as field ,tenor, and mode, furthermore , in the process of tamtoet bife’. The field of the text is A process of asking for marriage which more emphasize in the family meeting. There were 2 main speaker in the tenor of the ctext .While the mode was using more spoken because this is the dialogue. The structure of the text starts from BO (Bargaining Opening), BC (Bargaining Content) and BCL( Bargaining Closure). Based on the date analysis it is suggested that lectures should teach materials related to context of situation, especially dealing with cultural/ritual. Process such as asking for marriage to enrich student’s knowledge and for the culture’s elder to show introduce every kind of culture processes to the young generatio

A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY OF HOMONYMY ON AMANUBAN DIALECT OF UAB METO

This research was conducted with the title ''A Descriptive Study of Homonimyon Amanuban Dialect of Uab Meto.'' This study aims to the types of homonymy found in Amanuban Dialect of Uab Meto. This research uses descriptive qualitative research design. The instrument used to collect data was an in-depth interview with the community in Nekamese Village, Kie sub-district in analyzing the author's data using the theory of Homophone proposed by Saeed (2009:63). From the results of descriptive data, the author found types dialects of Uab Meto language. After describing Homonyms in the Uab Meto dialect, the author hopes that this research can provide information or knowledge about homonyms in the Uab Meto dialect for the community in Nekamese village, Kie subdistrict, south central Timor regency, must preserve the regional language as one of the cultural treasures that must be preserved.

ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled “AN ANALYSIS ON DEIXIS IN “LASI KNINO NATUIN NAI LUKAS’’, THE GOSPEL OF LUKE IN UAB METO LANGUAGE (A Language Spoken by People in Amanuban)ˮ. The aim of study is to find out types of deixis in Lasi Knino Natuin Nai Lukas, the gospel of Luke in Uab Meto Language, such as: person deixis, place/spatial deixis, time/temporal deixis, discourse deixis and social deixis. In this research, the study used descriptive qualitative method in the form of content analysis. The findings showed that the types of deixis found in Lasi Knino Natuin Nai Lukas, the Gospel of Luke in Uab Meto Language are person deixis, place/spatial deixis, time/temporal deixis, and social deixis, excluded discourse deixis. The example of person deixis is au, spatial deixis is i, temporal deixis is esla, and social deixis is nai. The inexistence of discourse deixis in Lasi Knino Natuin Nai Lukas, the Gospel of Luke in Uab Meto Language does not mean that there is no discourse deixis in Uab Meto Language. This thesis is entilited “A SYNTACTICAL STUDY ON PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE IN UAB METO LANGUAGE USE IN FATULEU REGENCY”.The problems are formed into two questions: What are the structure rules of prepositional phrase in UabMeto language?andHow are the prepositional phrase in uabmeto language used in sentence? The questions aim to find out the structure rules of prepositional phrase in UabMeto language and to describe the use prepositional phrase in uabmeto language used in sentence. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitatif. The data were gained from 3 native speakers that have fulfilled the criteria as informants by recording them telling some stories baesd on the given questions. According to the data, the writer found PP P (NP), PP P+N:( PP) There are 30 prepositional phrase in UabMeto and 30 sentence in the NP in UabMeto language

This study deal with investigating the use of conjunction in short movie human trafficking use uab meto by March Almen YouTube channel. This study aims to discover the types and the dominant type of conjunction in short movie human trafficking by March Almen. Qualitative content analysis was utilized in this study. The source of the data was taken from March Almen YouTube channel entitled human trafficking published in 2017. The data weres analyzed by using taxonomy of conjunction stated by Haryoni-charty (2008). From the analysis, it was concluded that there to be 2 types of conjunction used in the data namely coordinate conjunction and subordinate conjunction, in coordinate conjunction the writer found 4 types of conjunction, namely ; Cumulative conjunction, alternative conjunction, adversative conjunction, and illative conjunction, then the dominant type of conjunction found by cumulative conjunction with 4 occurrences (28,6%), which is successively followed by alternative conjunction with 3 occurrences (21,5%), illative type 3 occurrences (21,5%), adversative type with 2 occurrences (14,2%), and the last one is subordinate conjunction with 2 occurrences (14,2%).

Judul penelitian ini “Kajian Bahasa Kiasan dalam Natoni di Uab Meto yang digunakan dalam menyambut tamu di Kecamatan Fatuleu Kabupaten Kupang” Masalah dari penelitian ini “apa sajakah gaya bahasa dalam Natoni? Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis jenis-jenis tuturan kiasan natoni dalam bahasa Uab Meto yang digunakan dalam penyambutan tamu di Desa Oebola, Kabupaten Kupang. Penulis menganalisis tuturan kiasan dalam Natoni dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Rekaman digunakan untuk mendapatkan data. Ada dua informan (Thobias Tanone dan Naaman Bees) untuk memperoleh data dan mereka adalah narator dari Natoni. Analisis difokuskan pada ciri kiasan dalam puisi seperti yang dikemukakan oleh Kennedy (1991) dan Robberts (1995) bahwa kata dan ekspresi memiliki pola atau bentuk tertentu, yaitu metafora, simile, paradoks, anafora, apostrof, synecdoche metonymy, personifikasi dan simbol. Dalam Natoni penulis hanya menemukan ⁽¹⁾simile, ⁽²⁾anafora, ⁽³⁾metonimi, ⁽⁴⁾sinekdoke, ⁽⁵⁾personifikasi dan ⁽⁶⁾simbol. Dalam simile mereka menggunakan nak “like” untuk membandingkan objek secara langsung. Kata “Ne” selalu digunakan di setiap kalimat terakhir untuk memperjelas makna yang diwakilinya dalam anafora. Kata leku ma tabu memiliki arti yang sama “waktu” yang selalu digunakan dalam metonimi. Kalimat ho paham ho nifu “benuamu, samudramu, wilayahmu” menggunakan personifikasi dan sinekdoke karena menggunakan benda abstrak untuk menggambarkan karakter manusia. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan informasi atau pengetahuan yang berharga kepada pembaca untuk mengetahui tentang jenis-jenis tuturan kiasan yang ada pada Natoni uab meto. Artikel ini dapat memberikan sedikit kesadaran kepada generasi muda khususnya Dawan untuk menjaga dan melestarikan budaya lokal, seperti penyambutan tamu.

The study discussed about “ An anaylisis of compound words in uab meto holy bible sulat knino bane alekot”. The aims of study in this research : ( 1) To find out the kinds of compound words in Uab Meto Holy bible. (2) to describe the process of compound words in Uab Meto Holy bible .This research used descriptive qualitative method and collecting the data used uab meto holy bible sulat knino bane alekot. The data were analyzed in two steps, identifying and classifying the data based on the uab meto holy bible. The result of this research, the writer find out there are three kinds of compound words in “Sulat Knino Bane Alekot” Uab Meto Holy Bible, they are compound verb, compound noun and compound adjective..Those kinds are combining by joining two words with the different categories become a word with a new meaning.

This thesis is entitled "Comparative Analysis of Imperative Sentences between English and Uab Meto" which aims: (1) to find out the types and functions of imperative sentences in English and Uab Meto. (2) and find the similarities and differences between imperative sentences in English and Uab Meto. The author uses the descriptive method to explain the types and functions of imperative sentences in English and Uab Meto. The comparative method is used to analyze the similarities and differences between English and Uab Meto, which are sourced from the New International Version of the English Bible and Uab Meto Beno Alekot: Sulat Knino Anbi Uab Meto Neno-Neno 'Bible Good News Dawan Language every day' from the gospel of Mark, Luke, and John in data collection. Based on the results of this study shows there are similarities and differences between English and Uab Meto, namely: (1) the types of imperative sentences in two languages are positive and negative imperatives. (2) The function of imperative sentence in English has six functions: commands, requests, invitations, suggestions, advice, and prohibitions. While Uab Meto has seven functions such as command, requests, invitations, suggestions, advice, prohibitions, and warnings. (3) First, these two languages have the same positive basic sentence patterns: S+V; S+V+O+C; V+O and V+O+C. Second, the negative sentence patterns between English and Uab Meto have differences, namely: Don't+S+V, and Don't +S+V+O but in English Don't +V and Don't +V+O. Third, the pronouns of both languages also have differences because Uab Meto 2SG has differences with 2P1, namely Ho for 2SG and Hi for 2P1. Whereas in English 2SG and 2P1 are the same it is You. So it can be concluded that imperative sentences in two languages are not the same because each language has its own characteristics.

ABSTRACT
The study discussed about “ An anaylisis on language shift phenomenon of young Uab Meto speaking community in Bakunase II area in mileneal era”. The aims of study in this research : To find out the factors that influenceof languange shift phenomenon of young Uab Meto Speaking Community In Bakunase II area in mileneal era and to find out the level of languange shift phenomenon towards to young Uab Meto speaking community in Bakunase II area in mileneal era. This research used descriptive qualitative method and collecting the data by interview and recording the conversation. There are 4 factors that influence languange shift . They are migration, bilingualism, numbers of speakers and intercultural marriage. Based on this writing, the writer found out that bilingual and numbers of speakers are the dominant factors that cause languange shifting in that area . In conclusion ,young Uab Meto at Bakunase II area generally categories in two degress of endangered: (1) definitely endangered because the young people no longer learn Uab Meto at home. Kupang is mostly spoken by them. (2) severely endangered because the parents who knows about Uab Meto can’t speak it to their children.

ABSTRACT
This thesis is entitled A SEMANTIC ANALYSIS ON POLYSEMY AND HOMONYMY OF UAB METO LANGUAGE UTTERED BY FATULEU COMMUNITY. The research problems of this study are what are the types and meanings of polysemy and homonymy of Uab Meto used by people living in Fatuleu. The aims of this study are to find out the types and meanings of polysemy and homonymy in Uab Meto. Descriptive qualitative method is applied in this research. The object of this study is Fatuleu especially Passi village. To collect the data the writer needed eight peoples to be sample to take record in conversation. There are two types of polysemy, namely: 1. Regular Polysemy. 2. Irregular Polysemy. There are examples for regular polysemy: A. metnah ’lie’, and ‘black’ and fatu ’stones’, ‘ battery’ and irregular polysemy like nao, fanin, poe ’go out’. There are four types of homonymy, like: 1. Same Spelling-category, 2. Same Category-different Spelling (homophone), 3.Different category-same Spelling (homograph), 4.Different Category-Different Spelling. There are examples of homonymy: same spelling-category: nahan ‘sound’ and ‘cook’, some category-different spelling: na’lot ‘hungry’ and ‘boiling’, different category-same spelling: neno ’day’ and ‘skies’, different category-different spelling: hetpoe ’clean and hepoe ‘looking’. ’The data was collect by taking recording and transcribe, then translate to English. After analyzing the data polysemy and homonymy in Uab Meto language the writer found fifty data of polysemy and homonymy , that consists of : elevant regular polysemy, five irregular polysemy, eight same spelling-category, five same category-different spelling (homophone), thirteen different category-same spelling (homograph), eight different category-different spelling.

ABSTRACT This study discuss about ”A Metathesis Found in Uab Meto Verb of Amanuban and Amfo’an Dialects on the Book of Mark”. The aim of study is: to find out types of metathesis found in Uab Meto verbs of Amanuban and Amfoa’an dialect on the Book of Mark. The researcher used qualitative method and theory suggested by Sona and Budiarta (2018) explained Uab Meto is unique in its verb construction and also interesting to study in terms of meaning. Those verbs have different forms, same meaning and most importantly metathesis was found there. As in Khafidhoh (2019) metathesis is one of the unique phenomena of language and has divided into five types. Namely; pure metathesis in the same syllable, pure metathesis in different syllable, metathesis followed by addition, metathesis followed by omission, and metathesis followed by addition and omission. The data is taken from the Book of Mark on Amanuban and Amfo’an version and was analyzed with using some procedures such as, selecting chapter to be analyzed, next is reading that chapter, identifying Uab Meto verb, and classifying the types of metathesis. After that, analyzing data and making conclusion. The result of this study showed that there were 45 verbs found in Amanuban and Amfo’an dialects which have metathesis. As the result, 11 verbs found as pure metathesis in the same syllable, 19 verbs found as pure metathesis in different syllables, 9 metathesis followed by addition, no metathesis followed by omission, and 6 metathesis followed by addition and omission. ABSTRACT This research is about “A NATURAL SEMANTIC METALANGUAGE ANALYSIS ON VERB TO TAKE IN AMANUBAN DIALECT OF UAB METO". The problems of this study are what are the kinds of ‘verb to take’ in Uab Meto of Amanuban dialect and how does the ‘verb to take’ are using in Uab Meto of Amanuban dialect. The aims of this research are to find out the kinds of ‘verb to take’ in Uab Meto of Amanuban dialect and how the ‘verb to take’ are using in Uab Meto of amanuban dialect. Descriptive qualitative method is used in doing this research. The writer applies the Natural Semantic Metalanguage (NSM) approach of Goddard’s (2002) theory to find out the results with picture through interview. The ‘verb to take’ in Uab Meto has same meaning but different action. Based on the data analysis it was found that in Uab Meto of Amanuban dialect, the ‘verb to take’ can be expressed in fourteen lexicon, namely naiti, ntet, nabak, nloti, nseki, nhel, nau, nbok, naheun, nkui, nseu, nhetu, nbuti, nlefi. The semantic structure based on the argument show; if someone ‘take’ then the component can be mapped to ‘X do something to Y’ and because of this ‘Y move to X’ at the same time, X wants this , X do something like this.

ABSTRACT This thesis entitled Analysis On Metaphor in Agricultural Field of Uab Meto from Oinlasi Village. The questions to be answered in conducting this research were 1) What are the metaphor found in agricultural Field of Uab Meto from Oinlasi village? and 2) What are the meaning of metaphor in agricultural Field of Uab Meto from Oinlasi village?, therefore this research aims at finding out Metaphor in agricultural field of Uab Meto from Oinlasi village and to find out the meaning of metaphor in agricultural field of Uab Meto from Oinlasi village. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative. In collecting the data the writer, transcribed and interviewed some informants who are the native speakers of Uab Meto in Oinlasi village. The result of the analysis showed that there are Metaphors related to Agricultural Plants, Field of Agricultural Equipment, Agricultural Activities, and Natural in an Ecolinguistic View. Then, the kind of metaphor related with agricultural field has different meaning in literal. Key words: Metaphor, Agricultural Field, and Uab Meto.
