Nanotek, S.Pd., M.Pd) This research is a study on semantic meaning of lyrics in hole a traditional song of ritual ceremony after harvest in sabunese culture. There one of research problem namely what are the types of semantic meaning of lyrics in Hole. The aim of this research were to find out types of semantic meaning of lyrics in Hole. The data was taken from one person as informant using the note-taking and applied documentation as the data collection. Based on the analysis the lyrics hole, there are four types of semantic meaning. The first is conceptual meaning, for example, conceptual meaning, I,e: This rice will thrive, and we will use it as a sign of a successful harvest. Ne are nade do ta muri nga merede. connotative meaning,I,e: Moba’ni nadu mi manu. That naughty girl/chicken. collocative meaning,I,e: rowi kolo loro mone lamma. For male offspiring. thematic meaning,I,e: mita nyale ta pelam’me ne are wie hab’ba rai lowe. In order to be divided rice for all hab’ba people. The conclusion is there are four types of semantic meaning of Hole which are conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, collocative meaning, thematic meaning. While, there is three type that is not found in Hole Lyrics song, namely reflective meaning. stylistic meaning, affective meaning, and reflected meaning. SEMANTIC ANALYSIS ON TRADITIONAL SONGS LYRICS IN LETTI LANGUAGE

This study discussed the “Semantic Analysis on Traditional Songs Lyrics in Letti Language”. The aims of the study are: (1) To find out the types of meaning in semantic analysis on traditional songs lyrics in Letti language, and (2) To find out the dominant types of meaning in semantic analysis on traditional songs lyrics in Letti language. The writer took three songs, they were; Nara Awake Ampun Tiow song, Inku Amku song and Ina Ama song. The data taken from videos on YouTube channel of Rinto Lewen. The method of this study was descriptive qualitative method. In analyzing the data, the writer use the theory about semantics meaning by Leech (In Pardede 2016).The result of this study showed that there were seven types of meanings in Rinro Lewen channel; conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, social meaning, affective meaning, reflective meaning, co-locative meaning and the last one is thematic meaning. While the dominant types of those traditional song lyrics is affective meaning with a total 11 points and a total dominant 34.38%. After making the analysis on the semantics meaning in Song Lyrics in Letti language, the writer expects this research could give some information or knowledge about semantic meaning used in Letti language. The writer also expects that young generation of the island of Letti in Maluku, just east of Timor have to care of local language as one of the wealth of their culture must be preserved.

A SEMANTIC ANALYSIS ON POLYSEMY AND HOMONYMY OF UAB METO LANGUAGE UTTERED BY FATULEU COMMUNITY

ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled A SEMANTIC ANALYSIS ON POLYSEMY AND HOMONYMY OF UAB METO LANGUAGE UTTERED BY FATULEU COMMUNITY. The research problems of this study are what are the types and meanings of polysemy and homonymy of Uab Meto used by people living in Fatuleu. The aims of this study are to find out the types and meanings of polysemy and homonymy in Uab Meto. Descriptive qualitative method is applied in this research. The object of this study is Fatuleu especially Passi village. To collect the data the writer needed eight peoples to be sample to take record in conversation. There are two types of polysemy, namely: 1. Regular Polysemy. 2. Irregular Polysemy. There are examples for regular polysemy: A. metnah ’lie’, and ‘black’ and fatu ’stones’, ‘ battery’ and irregular polysemy like nao, fanin, poe ’go out’. There are four types of homonymy, like: 1. Same Spelling-category, 2. Same Category-different Spelling (homophone), 3.Different category-same Spelling (homograph), 4.Different Category-Different Spelling. There are examples of homonymy: same spelling-category: nahan ‘sound’ and ‘cook’, some category-different spelling: na’lot ‘hungry’ and ‘boiling’, different category-same spelling: neno ’day’ and ‘skies’, different category-different spelling: hetpoe ’clean and hepoe ‘looking’. ’The data was collect by taking recording and transcribe, then translate to English. After analyzing the data polysemy and homonymy in Uab Meto language the writer found fifty data of polysemy and homonymy , that consists of : elevant regular polysemy, five irregular polysemy, eight same spelling-category, five same category-different spelling (homophone), thirteen different category-same spelling (homograph), eight different category-different spelling.
