This research is entitled A Descriptive Study of Student Satisfaction Level Teaching Strategies for PPL UKAW Students at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. The formulation of the problem in this study is what is the level of student satisfaction with the UKAW PPL teaching strategies for students at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang? The purpose of this study was to determine the level of student satisfaction with the teaching strategies of UKAW PPL students at SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. The approach used in this research is quantitative descriptive using Sopiatin's theory (2010). Sources of data in this study were individuals from 15 students of SMP Negeri 10 Kupang using a questionnaire. The results of the study found that the level of student satisfaction with the teaching strategies of PPL UKAW Kupang students was in very satisfied category with a score of 81.33%, but the empathy indicator had to be maximized because students felt quite satisfied. So, the writer can conclude that the teaching strategy used by UKAW Kupang PPL students is good and it is prove with students feeling satisfied.

The study applies CTL for teaching speaking to the seventh grade of junior high school. In this study, the problems the writers try to solve are: How does the teacher apply of seven principles of CTL for teaching speaking? Are there any improvements in the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning for teaching speaking skills? The objects of the study were finding out to the application of CTL for teaching speaking to the seventh year students. To know the improvements in the application of Contextual Teaching Learning for speaking skill seventh year students of SMP N 4 AMARASI BARAT in academic year 2022/2023. The study focused on class VII which consisted of 16 students: 7 boys and 9 girls. The data were obtained through observation and questionnaires. The result of the students’ progress during the teaching and learning process was very good. It was supported by the significant result of the post-test that was bigger (78) than the pre-test (50). Therefore, teachers can use CTL for teaching speaking. Based on result, the application of CTL can be said as an effective way to improve students’ speaking ability, they can be actively involved in the class, they can study together, and the result of study is evaluated by some ways not by the test. Also, the writer expected that this thesis to socialize the CTL to the readers, especially for English teacher.

This thesis is entitled "A Descriptive Study On Students' Passiveness To Online English Learning During The COVID-19 Pandemic In 9th Grade Students Of SMP Negeri 14 Kupang In Academic Year 2021/2022." This study was conducted to answer the question: what are the factors that cause student passivity and the efforts made by teachers in the online learning process for students during the COVID-19 pandemic? The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors causing student passivity and the efforts made by the teacher. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and data collection using direct interviews. Data analysis was carried out through copying interview data from respondents into written data, identifying and grouping data based on factors causing student passivity and the efforts made by teachers in online learning. The results showed that there were several factors 1) Technological factors: internet, study apps, device and enthusiasm lesson 2) lack of motivation: passion of work, appreciation, and teaching method 3) Innovation: attention, creativity, critical thinking, and interaction. Efforts include: 1) Technology: internet, study apps, electricity. 2) Motivation: eager to learn, attention, sorounding environment. 3) Innovation: Creativity, in the form of games, time. In online learning, there are several factors that greatly influence the passivity of students at SMP Negeri 14 Kupang, it was found that students experienced problems with these factors when online learning, judging from the factors that affect students passivity, teachers have efforts to overcome problems. School are expected to be more supportive.

The Aim of this study was to improve speaking skills in English by using alphabet games for 2nd students’ Artha Wacana Christian Univerity. This research includes action research using alphabet games to improve students' speaking skills. There are several methods used in this study, including guessing games, forming new words starting with the first letter of the first word, and finding the right word in the word box which was applied to improve students' skills in learning to speak English. This is a quantitative research, this research includes teaching English using games. The results showed that the application of the method on the research instrument included classroom action using alphabet games to improve speaking skills. Games in speaking class are believed to be effective in improving students' skills in learning to speak English, maximizing student participation during speaking activities, and reducing students' boredom in learning

ABSTRACT
The positive impacts of e-learning are very influential in learning activities during the covid-19 pandemic. The aim of this study is to find out the positive impacts ofe-learning on students’ creative behavior in learning activities at SMP Angkasa Lanud El Tari Kupang. There were five students of SMP Angkasa Lanud El Tari Kupang involved this study. To attain the aim of this study, the data were colected through an interview. The data collected were analyzed using qulitative descriptive. The results of this study indicate that the impacts of e-learning on students’ creative behavior during the covid-19 pandemic give six positive impacts. The positive impacts of e-learning on students in learning are: increasing students' active participation in learning, increasing students' thinking skills, students becoming more independent, e-learning facilities in the form of audio and video make it easier for students to understand the material, the material obtained is more concise and simple, e-learning media can save students' time in learning.The positive impacts of using e-learning are shown by students through advertising materials during learning activities. There are so many new things that are felt by the students. They are more innovative, have a high curiosity, always take the initiative to do something, and always try to adapt to IT developments. These things make students’ learning activities develop.

This study is about Students perception of the use of social media in learning English. The writer conducted this study under the title “A STUDY ON STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO LEARN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AT SMA ADVENT NUSRA.
A. It is what is students’ perception on the use of social media to learn English. There were twenty students of SMA Advent Nusra involved in this study. To attain the aims of this study. The data collected were analyzed using qualitative descriptions. The findings reveal that students have three views on social media experienced during
online learning through social media, namely students' views on the use of social media while studying, students' views on how to learn through social media, and students' views on learning English as a foreign language through social media.

This research is entitled “Analysis of Reading Interests in the English Study Program, Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang Academic Year 2019/2020)” The author formulate two research questions, namely: (1) What are the types of students' interest in reading books? and (2) what factors influence students' reading interest?. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of reading interest used by students in reading and what factors influence student reading interest. Data was taken using a questionnaire technique with third, fifth and seventh semester students. The author transcribed and analyzed the data using qualitative descriptive analysis in conducting this research. There are two types of student reading interest, the first, the type of reading spontaneously, the type of reading that is patterned. Next, to find out the factors that influence students' reading interest, there are two factors, namely intrinsic factors and extrinsic factors. The intrinsic factor consists of awareness,reading ability and attitute. Extrinsic factors consist of motivation, internet, time allocation, learning system, library, and language.

This research presents “A descriptive study on conjunction found on students ‘thesis background’ at Artha Wacana Christian Univesity in academic year 2018/2019” The aim of this research is to find out conjunctions and the types of conjunctions on students’ thesis background at Artha Wacana Christian University in academic year 2018/2019. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The result shows that 1) the conjunction used are : and, or, although, even though, as, that, which, when, after, thus, so, therefore, besides, furthermore, who, what, therefore, due, where, because, however, but, who, which, if, how, what, such as, before, that is why, so that, besides, before, moreover,whether,hence.2) The types of conjunction are non basic conjunction, subordinate conjunction, subordinate that express consequence in time, subordinate that express result consequence, subordinate that express cause/reason, subordinate that express circumstances, subordinate that express consesion, subordinate advertise conjunction, subordinate additive conjunction. Thus, the students needs to learn conjunction and the types of conjunction so they can use the correct conjunction to make their writing become coherence.

The title of this writing “Teachers’ strategies in improving the students’ creativity in learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat” The research problems of the study were: What are teachers‟ strategies in improving the students‟ creative in learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat? The aim of this study was to find out teachers‟ strategies in improving the students‟ creative learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat. The method used in this writing is qualitative method. The data of this resarch is taken from SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat. The result of this study showed that strategies that used by teachers in improving the students‟ creativity in learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat are namely: autocratic strategies, Group Discussion, Students Presentation and Brainstorming. The suggestion of this study is the English teacher should be able in choosing what strategies in teaching English relevant to with the students‟ ability needs and interests

ABSTRACT Research problem in this research that is: What are the problems faced by the students in writing descriptive text? This research is aimed is to find out the students problems in writing descriptive text at SMP Negeri Satu Atap Fatubia. Population in this research is all students’ class VIII with total 39 students’, and the sample in this research is class VIII A with total 20 students. To obtain the data required for this research, the writer has given an explanation about descriptive text and then given the time for students to write their own text about descriptive text especially in describing people. The results of this study showed that the students’ faced several problems in writing descriptive text. They were: grammar, vocabulary, organization, content, and mechanic. Therefore, to overcome this problem teacher should give more attention in teaching descriptive by paying attention to students’ grammar, vocabulary, organization, content, and mechanic. Teacher is also need to find some interest activity to make teaching English especially writing can be understood by students.

The title of this writing was “ A Descriptive Study of Learning Styles Through Teaching English for Young Learners Using Three Games Amidst Pandemic at SD Inpres Sanggaoen – Rote”. The researcher problem of this study is, what are the students learning styles of teaching English using three games amidst pandemic at SD Inpres Sanggaoen – Rote. The purpose of this study was to investigate the learning styles of students in the second grade of Sd Inpres Sanggaoen – Rote. This is a qualitative research, this research includes teaching using three games, observation and analysis data. The result showed that the are three types of students learning styles in the second grade of SD Inpres Sanggaoen – Rote. They are visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. Research also accommodate students learning styles using games that is Simon Says, Charades and Dabble. In learning the researcher use media such as part of body, pictures and cards in the form of the alphabet. Using games in learning, researcher can classify students learning styles. In addition, it can make the class more interesting and be used to increase students learning motivation

Background: Teachers are professional educators with the main duty are educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, evaluating, and developing students in education. This study refers to the research problem regarding how is the role of physical education teachers in developing the students' mentally during offline and online learning.
Research Objectives: This study aims to find out the role of physical education teachers in mentally development of students when offline and online learning.
Research Method: This study used a qualitative research. The subject in this study is the physical education teacher at SMA Negeri 8 Kupang City. The data collection techniques that used in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation, the data analysis used was descriptive qualitative.
Result and Discussion: Physical education teacher's role in developing students' mentally can be done well in learning, because the physical education teachers are able to apply their role as an educators who are responsible for students in physical education, sport, and health learning. In the implementation of education, the teachers have a very important duty, namely guiding and directing the students so that they can grow and develop optimally.
Conclusion: The physical education teachers play an important role in the developing the students’ mentally when learning in the classroom nor the field so that students are more than disciplined and on time in learning. The physical education teachers can motivate the students with an appreciation or sanction given to students.

This study is about types of teacher’s questions and students’ responses toward teachers’ questions . The writer conducts this study under the title “An Analysis of Teachers’ Questions and Students’ Response in English Classroom in Teaching and Learning Process”. There were two videos involved in this study. The first video was about 34.37 minutes and the second video was about 16.10 minutes. The writer collected the data through watching the videos . The collected data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive method. The findings revealed that there were five types of teacher’s questions used by the teachers, they were yes/no questions (33,7%), short answer questions (18,1%), open ended questions (11,7%), display questions (22,0%) and referential questions (14,2%) . Three types of students responses used by the students , they were student response (specific) was 48,1%, student response (open-ended or student-initiated) was 46,7% and the last student response (nonverbal) 5,2%. ABSTRACT A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON TEACHERS’ STRATEGIES TO OVERCOME STUDENTS’ SPEAKING DIFFICULTIES AT ENGLISH EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM OF ARTHA WACANA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY The problem of this research is "What are the difficulties experienced by second-semester English student in the English language study program at Artha Christian University in Kupang and what are the strategies used by English lecturers in teaching to solve the difficulties of English students especially second semester especially at Artha Wacana Kupang Christian University?" This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were two English teaching lecturers who taught the speaking subject in the second semester, the English language study program at Artha Wacana Kupang University. The data collection instruments were questionnaires and interviews. After obtaining the data, the authors analyzed the difficulties experienced by second-semester students in speaking English in the English study program and analyzed the strategies used by English lecturers in teaching in solving the difficulties of second-semester students in speaking English.The results showed that most of the students were less motivated to learn to speak in English, some students lacked vocabulary in arranging words to speak in English, some students were afraid to speak in English, and some students lacked confidence in speaking in English. And some students have difficulty pronouncing certain words in English. Therefore, the strategies applied to solve the problem of students' difficulties in speaking English in the author's analysis are: Repetition and imitating, makes the script of conversation, grammar checker, makes the student perform in groups, sense of controls, motivation the students, inquiry strategy, the role-play, the brain-storming, the drilling strategy, and the game's strategy. Keywords: Students’ speaking difficulties and teachers’ strategies to solve students'English speaking difficulties.
