This thesis is entitled "A Descriptive Study On Students' Passiveness To Online English Learning During The COVID-19 Pandemic In 9th Grade Students Of SMP Negeri 14 Kupang In Academic Year 2021/2022." This study was conducted to answer the question: what are the factors that cause student passivity and the efforts made by teachers in the online learning process for students during the COVID-19 pandemic? The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors causing student passivity and the efforts made by the teacher. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and data collection using direct interviews. Data analysis was carried out through copying interview data from respondents into written data, identifying and grouping data based on factors causing student passivity and the efforts made by teachers in online learning. The results showed that there were several factors 1) Technological factors: internet, study apps, device and enthusiasm lesson 2) lack of motivation: passion of work, appreciation, and teaching method 3) Innovation: attention, creativity, critical thinking, and interaction. Efforts include: 1) Technology: internet, study apps, electricity. 2) Motivation: eager to learn, attention, sorounding environment. 3) Innovation: Creativity, in the form of games, time. In online learning, there are several factors that greatly influence the passivity of students at SMP Negeri 14 Kupang, it was found that students experienced problems with these factors when online learning, judging from the factors that affect students passivity, teachers have efforts to overcome problems. School are expected to be more supportive.

ABSTRACT This thesis is entitled "A STUDY ON ROLE OF PARENTS ON CHILDREN’S ACHIEVEMENT IN ONLINE LEARNING PROCESS" The research problem of this study is what are parents role towards their children achievement in online learning process, and what are influence factors by parents towards their children achievement in online learning process. The purpose of this study is to find out parents’ role towards their children achievement in online learning process, and the influence factors by parents towards their children achievement in online learning process. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were parents in blocks D and D1. Data collection were taken through interviews and observations. The writer acts as a direct interviewer to explore data through parents in blocks D and D1. The results showed that parents’ role towards their children achievement in online learning process that is parents carry out two roles at once, the first to be a parent and the second to be a home teacher; provide facilities and infrastructure for children; give spirit; motivation; directing children according to their talents and interests each child has. The influence factors by parents towards their children achievement in online learning process that is background parental education affects the level of ease and difficulty of parents in educating children; The economic level of parents affects the online learning process, especially in terms of facilitating online learning child; difficulty dividing time between children and work; number of family members also influences parents in providing guidance to children in learning at home.

This researchentitles ‘’Descriptive Study On Parents Obstacles Of Online Learning During Covid-19 Pandemic In The Village Of Tanah Putih In Kupang Regency.The research problem of this study is,what are the parents obstacles of online learning during covid-19 pandemic?The purpose of study was describe parents obstacles of online learning during covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method and data collection is done by interview. The main theory used in this study is the obstecles during online learning theory from Amelia et al., (2020). This findings shows 10 types of parents obstacles in online learning during covid-19 pandemic. While proposed by Wardani, Anita & Ayrisa (2020) are 6 types obstacles of parents.The result proves that the obstacles of parents in online learning during covid-19 pandemic makes parents difficult to accompanying childrens in online learning. There are the general obstacles, limitation materials of parents, parents difficult to motivate childrens in learning, parents limitation in operating gedgets, parents difficult in devide time, emotional of childrens make probelm when learning online, difficult internet network, level focus of childrens, the way parents upgrade the quality of childrens to learn, problem of phone, parents are not patients with emotional with childrens.

This thesis is entitled “A DESCRIPTIVE ONLINE LEARNING STRATEGIES DURING THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC AT SMP N 1 KUPANG”. The research is conducted to answer two questions : 1.what strategies are applied by English teachers to teach English at SMP N 1 Kupang? 2. Are there obstacles when teacher use these strategies in online learning? The subject of this study is one teacher. The aims of this research are to find out the strategies applied by English teacher to teach English at SMP N 1 and obstacles in using these strategies. This is qualitative research, this research includes data analysis. Data collection is done by answering a questionnaire. The results of the study show that there are 5 strategies used by teacher at SMP N 1 Kupang in teaching during a pandemic, namely (1)Creating a two-way communication relationship among students and teachers, (2)Prepare learning materials that are short, clear, easy to understand, and interesting, (3)Choose learning media that is simple and attractive, (4) Planning some inline quizzes at the end of the lesson, (5)Conducting regular and continuous evaluations. In the use of various strategies, there are obstacles faced by teachers during the learning process are including unavailable internet quota and unavailable networks.

The title of this writing was “a descriptive study on the impact of online
learning on student during pandemic covid-19”. The research is conducted to
answer question: what are the impact of online learning on students during
pandemic covid-19.This study aimed to determine the impact of online learning
on students during pandemic covid-19. This study used a qualitative descriptive
method and data collectionusing an online questionnaire. Data analysis was
carried out throughcopying data fromrespondents into written data, identifying
and classifying data based on the impact of online learning during covid-19. The
results showed there were 2 impacts; positive impacts and negative impacts.
Positive impacts: (1) Media used in online learningcan be well used. (2) Students
can find a solution if they have a problem during online learning. (3) Have
comfortable when studying from home.(4)Material delivered can be understood
by students. (5) Students perceive that online learning has many benefits.
Negative impacts: (1) Poor connection from home. (2) Online learning is boring
for students. (3) Many obstacles are faced by students.(4) Misuse of the use
internet. Analysis of data taken from the impact that affects online learning in the
current covid-19 situation. Therefore, it becomes animpact for students that occurs
during online learning.

The title on this note "Parents roles towards Students Online Learning during
Pandemic Covid-19 at Benpasi-TTU (Timor Tengah Utara)".The Research
problem from this research is what are the parents’ role of students in online
learning at Benpasi-TTU. This study aim to know the role of parents toward
students in online learning at Benpasi-TTU. This is a qualitative study that seeks
to know the role of a parents in supervising their children during the
implementation of online learning during the Covid-19. The research subjects are
10 parents of students with 10 questions to find out their responsibilities in the
learning process from home. The data were obtained by conducting interviews.
The results showed that : 1) The role of parents as Educators ; parents always try
to find solutions in overcoming children’s problems in online learning, 2) The role
of parents as Motivators ; parents try to encourage children’s learning, 3) The role
of parents as Models ; parents provide good example for children in building
children’s character, improve discipline and provide good advice to children, 4)
The role of parents as friends ; parents become friends with children, 5) The role
of parents as Supervisors ; parents always supervise and accompany children in
learning.

This study is about An English teacher’s respons on the impact of covid – 19 faced by teacher toward online teaching. The writer conducted this study under the title’’ An English Teacher’s Respons On The Impact of Covid – 19 on Online Teaching at SMP N 8 Kupang in Academic Year 2019 / 2020. The aims of this research are (1) to identify an English teacher’s respons on the impact of covid – 19 on online teaching at SMP N 8 Kupang (2) to find out teacher expectation towards an English teacher’s respons on the impact of covid – 19. There are only one teacher of SMP Negeri 8 Kupang involved in this study. To attain the aims of this study, the data were collected through an online interview used Zoom Meeting. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method. The findings revealed that teacher had eleven impact of Covid – 19 on online teaching that classified into (1) Not all teacher are proficient in using internet technology or social media as a learning tool, especially in rural environments, (2) Some senior teacher are not yet fully able to use devices or facilities to support online learning activities and need assistance and training first, (3) Teacher must be able to carry out learning with online methods, teacher competence in the use of technology greatly affects quality of learning and outcomes for students, (4) Previously the teacher did the teaching with directly interacting with the situation or face to face with students so that they are familiar with the situation then face with online teaching / learning at home so as to make teacher feel boring, (5) Teacher are not free to monitor students overal development, (6) Usually the teacher meets and socializes with other teachers, but now teacher must teach at home, (7) Teacher must cooperative with parents and maintain communication for the success of students learning, (8) Teacher must seek various ways so that students can understand the material given by the teacher, (9) Teacher must re – prepare all online learning tools, (10) The internet quota needed is large and expensive, (11) The signal and internet access are not fluent.

ABSTRACT
This research is about the Implementation of Online Learning Process by Lecturers at English Education Study Program of Artha Wacana Christian University during Covid-19 pandemic. The objectives of this research are (1) to find out the implementation on online learning process by lecturers at English Education Study Program of Artha Wacana Christian University during Covid-19 pandemic (2) to find out the problems found in the implementation on online learning process by lecturers at English Education Study Program of Artha Wacana Christian University during Covid-19 pandemic. The method of this research was Qualitative Research with descriptive qualitative method, there is quesionnaire. From the results of this research, the researcher found that the lecturers do four steps in the implementation online learning with several activities, such as: 1) Preparation, send the learning material before the class starts; 2) Activity, create a group discussion, individual presentation, blended learning, and project based learning; 3) Tasks, give some task for students; and 4) Discussion, give comments and correction. From the result of this research, the researcher found that in the implementation of online learning process has four problems faced by lecturers, such as: 1) Internet data, use private internet data; 2) Internet network, bad internet connection; 3) Facilities, laptop or computer and mobile phone; and 4) Students’ participation, less participation and active participation.

ABSTRACT This study discusses about “An analysis on factors influencing online English learning during covid-19 at Artha Wacana Christian University Kupang in academic year 2019/2020”. The aims of study: to know the factors influencing online English learning during covid-19 at Artha Wacana Christian University. This research used descriptive qualitative method and collecting data by interview (give questionnaires in a manner online). The data were analyzed through stages, namely transcribing the data from the respondent into written data, identifying and classifying data based on the factors influencing online English learning during covid-19, from giving questionnaires and analyzing data. The researcher concludes that there are many factors are facing by students in their daily learning activity or online English learning during covid-19 and those aren’t ensuring students to interest and enjoy the learning nicely. The analysis data that take of factor influencing in online English learning in this current situation covid-19. Therefore, it is become problems for students which is happened during online learning but, the student always enjoy to join the online class. Although in this current situation of covid-19 the researcher showed readers that the English learning are still well even students facing many problems during the Online class, they are challenged and learned new things. ABSTRACT
This thesis is entitled “The Implementation Of Lesson Planning Of An Online Learning By The Teachers at SMP N 10 Kupang”. The problem is how is the implementation of an online learning lesson planning by the English teachers at SMP N 10 Kupang? and What are the inhibition factors in the implementation of an online learning lesson planning by the English teachers at SMP N 10 Kupang? This study aims of this study are to find out how is the implementation of an online learning lesson planning and what are the inhibition factors of an online learning lesson planning. Research method in this research is used descriptive qualitative method. Data resource is the English teacher’s at SMP N 10 Kupang. The researcher used interview to collect the data. The results of this research showed that there are seven steps implementation of an online learning lesson planning, they are Access, arriving, information exchange, building knowledge, facility, development and media. And also this research found five inhibition factors in the implementation of an on online learning of lesson planning these steps include: (1) choosing and defining the object of learning (2) ascertaining student prior knowledge on the object of learning (3) planning and Implementing a designed lesson (4) evaluating the lesson to the extent student have developed the target values (5) reporting and disseminating the results.
