Textbook is one of the materials in teaching learning process which is regularly used by both teachers and students at school. Textbook should be a representation of gender equality. Thus, this research was conducted to examine if both gender are represented equally in the EFL textbook Grow with Eenglish grade three. This research aims at answering the question “what are gender represented equally in the EFL textbook Grow with English grade three?”. To answer the research questions, document analysis method was applied to this research. Every page of the textbooks was analyzed to discover three aspects. They are visibility, occupation, and activity. After doing the analysis, it can be concluded that the gender did not represented equally. The number of female dominated in five chapter, while male were dominated in three chapter. Over all, the author of the textbook has tried to promote gender equity in the textbook. The textbook in this research still contain gender bias issues. Thus, it is expected to be revised in order to gender representation in the all of textbook will be represented equally.

ABSTRACT
The aims of this research is (1) to find out translation procedures applied by translator in translating the book Active English Conversation 1st edition from English to Indonesia, (2).To find out the dominant type of translation procedures from English to Indonesia applied in active English conversation textbook. In this research the writer used qualitative method to find out the translation procedures and quantitative method to find out the percentages of translation procedures. The result of this research is (1) the writer find out that there are 156 data of translation procedures applied on Active English Conversation Textbookconsist of (a) Borrowing is 16 data (10,25%), (b) Calque is 18 data (11,53%), (c) literal translation is 113 data (71, 51%) and (d) Transposition is 8 data (5, 12%) , equivalence 1 data (0, 64%) . (2) The dominant type of translation procedure from English to Indonesia applied inactive English conversation textbook is literal translation has 113 data (71, 51%).

ABSTRACT This theis is written under the tittle A CONTENT ANALYSIS ON THE ENGLISH TEXTBOOK ENTILTED “THEMATIC ENGLISH EXPLORATION” FOR FIRST GRADE STUDENTS OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.With the research question does the English textbook “thematic English exploration” meet the textbook criteria in terms of content, presesntation and linguistics determinend by BNSP (BadanStandarPendidikan Nasional) ? the aim of this study to find out whether or not the English textbooks analyzed meet the criteria of a good textbook in terms of content, presentation, and linguistics determined by BNSP (BadanStandarPendidikan). The data resource of this research is the content of the textbook Thematic English Exploration as the document to be analyzed. The writer used content analysis as the research designed, a kind of research under qualitative research in analysis the data. The writer analyzed based on the rubric assessment from BNSP. The finding of this study indicate that the “Thematic English Eploration” textbook has reached a fair standard of the textbook evaluation criteria suggested by BNSP. Including in material accury, learning materials, language appropriateness, and teaching and learning technique. Key Words : English Textbook, Content Analysis, materials
