AN ANALYSIS ON AFFIXATION PROCESS OF ANAKALANG DIALECT PONDOK VILLAGE, UMBU RATU NGGAY BARAT DISTRICT, CENTRAL SUMBA REGENCY

This study is entitled An Analysis on Affixation Process of Anakalang Dialect Pondok Village, Umbu Ratu Nggay Barat District, Central Sumba Regency. The research questions in this study are 1). What are the types of affixes found in the Anakalang Dialect, Pondok Village, Umbu Ratu Nggay Barat District, Central Sumba Regency? 2) What are the functions and meanings of the types of affixes found in the Anakalang Dialect, Pondok Village, Umbu Ratu Nggay Barat District, Central Sumba Regency? This study aims to determine the types of affixation, functions, and meanings found in the Anakalang dialect, Pondok Village, Umbu Ratu Nggay Barat District, Central Sumba Regency. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data sources were taken using observation techniques through recordings from native speakers of the Anakalang language in the process of proposing or transferring a girl. Based on the results of the analysis it was found that there are two types of affixes, functions, and meanings of Anakalang dialect namely: prefixes and suffixes. The prefix consists of six types: ha-, ka-, ma-, na-, pa-, and ta-. In comparison, the suffix consists of three types, namely -da, -na, and -ngu. The function of affixes in the Anakalang dialect, is to change word classes into other word classes and then form affixes according to the inherent basic form. The meaning of affixes in the Anakalang dialect is to have different meanings according to the inherent basic form. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that there are only two types of affixes in the Anakalang dialect, Pondok Village, Umbu Ratu Nggay Barat District, Central Sumba Regency, namely prefixes and suffixes, and have functions and meanings that change word classes into other word classes.

This study is conductet under the title “AN ANALYSIS ON IDIOM WORDS IN MEHARA LANGUAGE AT SABU RAIJUA REGENCY”. The research problem in this research are what are the types of idiom words in Mehara language at sabu raijua regncy & what are the types of idiom words in Mehara language at Sabu Raijua Regency. The aimed of this research were to find out the types of idiom words in Mehara Language at Sabu Raijua Regency & to find out the functions of idiom words in Mehara Language at sabu Raijua Regency. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The instrument of this research was observation technique and the data were collected through analysis the data. Base on the descriptive qualitative analysis it was found three types of idiom words that suitable with their own criteria. The results showed that three types such as similes, proverbs and fixed statement were used in Mehara Language. The used of idiom words is demonstrated by the 10 informants are: eme wob’ari, kattu wowadu, penga’a wawi hengi’u, ngaka do keweko rulai, aj’u kemuki le ri ngallu, meo para kakro, makka taha, appa b’ue ela, abo pa tapa, kerabba ela, nga’a ngallu, mola nge and etc. Similes are expression which compare two things, they always included the two words as and like (eme wob’ari). In addition, Proverbs are short sentence which refers to something as people have experienced and which gives or warning (keb’ao lui hub’u) and Fixed Statements are expression that can often hear and use in everyday conversation (madera kae). Besides the three types above, also the functions of it’s found are idiom are used for emphasis (paje ne kattu do miwowadu na nanne nga li do kepai), idiom are used to agree with the previous speakers (hauu li pedai), idiom are used to comment on people (keb’ao lui hub’u), and idiom are used to comment on a situation (golo keb’alla).

This research entitled “AN ANALYSIS ON PHATIC FUNCTION IN SOCIAL MEDIA FACEBOOK”. The problems of this study are what are the types of phatic function found in social media Facebook? and what are the roles of phatic function found in social media Facebook. The aims of this study are to find out the types of phatic function found in social media Facebook and the roles of phatic function in social media Facebook. Descriptive qualitative method used in doing this research. The data was taken from Facebook through screenshot the status about phatic function. After analyzing the data, the researcher found three types of phatic function that are mostly used in social media Facebook, they are the Neutral, example : So’e isvery cold ,Self-Oriented, example : You look so handsome and cute as well ,and Other-Oriented, example : Sister, how are you?. Role on phatic function in social media Facebookcommitted in three phases of interaction, they are Opening phases, example : Good morning December, Middle phases, example : I can’t believe , I don’t get internet out here so I have no idea about what happened in world news today and Closing phases , example : I can’t wait to go back to the Philippines.

This research about an analysis of speech act function in Helong language. To support this study the writer used theory of Levinnson (1983:240). The research problem of this study is what is the types of speech act function in Helong language. The aims of this study to find put the types of speech act function. The method thatused in the research is qualitative method. The object that used in this research is Helong language. There are five speech act function types such as : Representative speech act funtion “Leol neot ti mam leol in dadi ta kit ka sisi, sis bubuit tun”, Directive speech act function Rian bake tia le kit kuti, Commisive speech act function “Nesang lom tanggal 1 mesa li eto sole un ator un in nika ki ki kon siap pakian siap kaor babanas nas le kit lako”, Expressive speech act function “Auk kalat tas mata nas muir ke nenang nga lo kon nam, totoang gas batur lo”, and Declarative speech act function “Apin ni kit ka nol sisi ta, ola ki nuting sis ut po ka”. The data was collected by listening to recording that used Helong language, typed and translated into English then specify into types of speech act function. After analyzing the data the writer found out eigthty five data of speech act function they are twenty one speech act function of representative, thirty five speech act function of directive, fifthteen speech act function of commisive, six speech act function of expressive, anf eigfh speech act function of declarative.

AN ANALYSIS OF SLANG WORD USED IN THE MOVIE ENTITLED “BIRDS OF PREY” ABSTRACT (Yunita Natonis) (Norci Beeh, S.Pd, M.Pd) ( Zuvyati A. Tlonaen, SS, M.Pd ) Slang is a type of language variation consisting of new words or phrases that are unofficial or non-standard used by various social groups in informal situations. The researcher investigates slang words used in Birds of Prey movie. The research consists of two research problem as follow: 1) what are the types of slang words used in the movie “Birds of Prey”?, 2) what are the functions of slang words used in the movie “Birds of Prey”?. The aims of this research are to answer the problems that exist in this study using the theory by Allan and Burridge (2006) about types and function of slang. The researcher used descriptive qualitative method to describe the result. The researcher used documentation and note-taking technique to collect the data. The researcher found that there are five types of slang words used in this movie which are fresh and creative, flippant, imitative, acronym, and clipping. Fresh and creative was the most common types that found in the movie, there are thirty words that categorized into fresh and creative type. The researcher also found six different function of slang word that used in Birds of Prey movie. They are to address, to humiliate, to initiate relax conversation, to impress impression to reveal anger, and to show intimacy. By knowing the function of slang, the writer concludes that the use of slang can create relaxed conversation with people who have close relationships with each other. But, it can also bring bad effects in certain circumstances and situations.

ABSTRACT This current research is entitled " BODY LANGUAGE ANALYSIS IN LAMAHOLOT CULTURE ". The writer formulated two research questions, namely: (1) What are the types of body language in Lamaholot Culture? and (2) What are the functions of body language in Lamaholot Culture?. The aims of this research to find out the types of body language in Lamaholot Culture and the functions of body language in Lamaholot Culture. The data was taken from interviewed the Lamaholot community and analyzed the data by using descriptive qualitative method. There are two types of body language in Lamaholot Culture, namely : 1. Part of body, wich include 1). Head ‘Nado geri lodo’. 2). Facial expression, a). Eyebrows ‘Ilo mate’. b). Eyes ‘Mate bohi’ c). Nose ‘Geweru iru’. d). Lips ‘Giki wewe’. e). Tongue ‘Lolo ewel’. and f). Jaw ‘ Bea wewe’. 3). Eye contact ‘Niku weki’. 4). Body posture, a) Body proximity ‘Tobo ire no kerejehe’. b). Shoulder movement ‘Briku geri lodo’. c). Arm placement ‘Teke ale’ d). Leg and feet movement ‘Tili lei’. 5). Hand and finger gesture, a) Hadling and placement object ‘Sedu ewe nawu / Breka ekewai’ b).Finger tapping or druming ‘ Deto lime’ and 2. Intent, 1). voluntary/intentional movement ‘Penuhu lime’ and 2. Involuntary movement ‘Eke melihe’. And find out five function in Lamaholot culture, namely : 1). Affirms ‘Nado geri lodo’. 2). Contradict ‘Geka be’. 3). Substitution ‘Ligu lime’. 4). Complementing ‘Giki wewe’. 5).Accenting ‘Pemela’. And there are thirtieth body language in Lamaholot Culture.
