This research entitled “AN ANALYSIS ON PHATIC FUNCTION IN SOCIAL MEDIA FACEBOOK”. The problems of this study are what are the types of phatic function found in social media Facebook? and what are the roles of phatic function found in social media Facebook. The aims of this study are to find out the types of phatic function found in social media Facebook and the roles of phatic function in social media Facebook. Descriptive qualitative method used in doing this research. The data was taken from Facebook through screenshot the status about phatic function. After analyzing the data, the researcher found three types of phatic function that are mostly used in social media Facebook, they are the Neutral, example : So’e isvery cold ,Self-Oriented, example : You look so handsome and cute as well ,and Other-Oriented, example : Sister, how are you?. Role on phatic function in social media Facebookcommitted in three phases of interaction, they are Opening phases, example : Good morning December, Middle phases, example : I can’t believe , I don’t get internet out here so I have no idea about what happened in world news today and Closing phases , example : I can’t wait to go back to the Philippines.

Media sosial/jejaring sosial merupakan sebuah platfrom digital yang diciptakan oleh manusia untuk membantu manusia berkomunikasi dan beraktifitas dengan membagikan informasi secara digital. Media sosial merupakan media yang disediakan secara online untuk digunakan oleh masyarakat di seluruh dunia. Dengan semakin pesatnya perkembangan media sosial, manusia mulai menciptakan berbagai aplikasi digital untuk membantu manusia dalam membagi informasi.
Dalam perkembangan media sosialmenghadirkan berbagai macam aplikasi, 3 diantaranya yang paling paling popular dan sering digunakan di kalangan masyarakat khususnya Mahasiswa Fakultas Teologi UKAW Kupang yaitu Facebook, Instagram dan Tiktok. Dalam penulisan ini, membahas tentang bagaimana Mahasiswa Fakultas Teologi UKAW dapat menggunakan Media Sosial dengan baik, susai dengan fungsi dan kegunaaan yang seharusnya. Mahasiswa Fakultas Teologi UKAW Kupang sering kali menyalahgunakan Media social. Penulisan Tugas Akhir ini menjadi sumbangsi agar Mahasiswa Fakultas Teologi dapat menjaga nilai-nilai etis Teologi, dan tidak menyalahgunakan media sosial.

The title of this writing “a sociolinguistic study analysis of Register used in Babe Kupang group of Social Media Facebook” the problem of this study areWhat are the types ofregister used in Babe Kupang group’s language? And What are the meanings of register used in Babe Kupang group’s language?therefore the aims of this Research is to describeTo find outthe typesof the register use d in Babe Kupang group’s language To find out the meaning of register used in, Babe Kupang group’s language, All the gained data are classified and analysed using Descriptive qualitative Method. The research was conducted in following The procedure; first the writer chose Register, second the writer read Read it to describe the Bebe Kupang,basedon their writer,third analysed the data, fourth, the writer classified the babe Kupang in Social Media facebook, and the last the writer reported the Result of data analyzed.The result of this research showed that there are Regiter used in Babe Kupang Of Social Media Group Facebook .The writer finds out five of Register used in Babe kupang , they are:Statik Register, Formal register, Consultative Regeister,Casual register, Intimate Register.,Based on types of register of babe Kupang, there are some of meaning of register that become add another arguments in a sentennce they are;Statik Register, Formal register, Consultative Regeister,Casual register, Intimate Register.
