ABSTRACT This research aims to find out the types of idiomatic expressions and to find out the most used idiomatic expression found in Joker film script.This research employed a descriptive qualitative method. The data of this research were collected manually from the Joker film script. The result of this research showed that there were five types of idiomatic expression found in Joker film script they were phrasal verb for example: “Keeping up” means (Continue to do something) with percentage 48,51% and phrasal Compound for example: “Busy man” means (Having a lot to do) with percentage 17,91%. Which the others, slang with percentage 31,34%, allusion with the lowest percentage 0,75% and proverb with percentage 1,49%. Moreover, the dominant type of Idiomatic expression found in Joker film script was phrasal verb with 59%. It can be concluded that there were five types of Idiomatic expression found Joker film script namely phrasal verb, phrasal compound, slang, allusion and proverb. Wherefore, the dominant type presented by phrasal verb.

This research is about an analysis on idiomatic expressions found in Robert Fahik’s novel Badut Malaka. To support this study the writer used theory of Fernando (1996:36). The other theory that the writer used come from Palmer (1986:27). The research problems of this study are what are the kinds of idiomatic expressions and how are the forms of the idiomatic expressions inBadut Malaka Novel by Robert Fahik. The aims of this study are to describe and classify the kinds and the forms of idiomatic expressions found in badut malaka novel by Robert Fahik. Qualitative method is used in doing this research. The data was taken from the Badut Malaka novel. In this research, the writer used documentation technique to collected the data from the novel ,then analyzed the idiomatic expression of each utterance that includes to the kinds of idiomatic expression and forms of idiomatic expression. After analyzing the data, the writer found three kinds of idiomatic expressions they are pure idiomatic, semi idiomatic, and literal idiomatic, and four forms of idiomatic expression are verb plus noun, verb plus adverb, verb plus preposition, and verb plus adverb and preposition used in the badut malaka Novel by Robert Fahik. The kinds of idiomatic expression are pure idiomatic, such as mengetuk dinding-dinding hatiyang beku, it is means give strength, semi idiomatic, such as melahirkan duka it is means a great sadness, literal idiomatic, such as kepala tegak it is means proudly, and the forms are verb plus noun, such as mengetuk dinding-dinding hatiit is means give strength, verb plus adverb, such as membaca dibalik dadamu it is means feel believe, verb plus preposition, such as tertancap diit is means borne, verb plus adverb and preposition, such as kembali ketanah kelahirannya dengan tegak kepala it is means proudly. After analyzing the data the writer found twenty five data of kinds idiomatic expressions used in badut malaka novel, that consist of : eight of idioms as pure idiomatic expression, four of idioms as semi idiomatic expression, and thirteen of idioms as literal idiomatic expression. The writer also found twelve data as a forms of idiomatic in novel, which is consist of : five data are verb plus noun, two data are verb plus adverb, three data are verb plush preposition ,and verb plus adverb and preposition are two

The study is entitled “An Analysis On Semiotics Meaning Of Emojis And Stickers Used By Facebook Users In 2021”. The purpose was to find out the meanings and functions of the emojis and stickers used by facebook users. The analysis method used was descriptive qualitative method. The result of this analysis is to understanding of the emojis and stickers usage that managed to represent user’s expression while chatting in their chat room. According to the results of data analysis on26 respondents, the writer analyze 19 emojis and 13 stickers commonly used by facebook users.The emojis and stickers has become one of the objects of comunication by its users. It is considered to becoming attractive comunication tool to its user.

This thesis is entitled hyperbole in pamungkas song lyrics album solipsism 0.2 contained in pamungkas songs which are analysed into several aspects namely form, meaning, and function. This thesis analyses several aspects including form, meaning, and function. The researcher uses descriptive method in this research. The data in this research is analysed and explained by using qualitative method. So, this research uses qualitative descriptive method. The data in this study were obtained through literature study. The population of this research is One album from Pamungkas entitled Solipsism 0.2 and the album consists of 11 songs where each album has 10 songs. After being analysed, the researcher found 51 hyperbole expressions in 11 Pamungkas songs. The expressions are then grouped into several forms. There are 24 single word hyperbole, 24 phrase hyperbole, and 1 clausal hyperbole as well as 1 repetition. This research also explains and analyses the meaning and function of the hyperbole expressions found in Pamungkas' songs. Hyperbole conveys various aspects of love from intense infatuation to willingness When analysing hyperbole and interpreting its meaning, it is important to interpreting its meaning, it is very important for the next researcher to have an a deep understanding of the content of the songs.

ABSTRACT This thesis is written under the title “ A Semantic Analysis On Idiomatic Expression Of Koda Kiwan In Welcoming Guest Ceremony In Lamaholot Language ” with the research question what are the idiomatic expression and what are the types of meaning of idiomatic expression in welcoming guest ceremony in Lamaholot language ?The aim of this study is to find out idiomatic expression in welcoming guest ceremony in Lamaholot Language, and the types of meaning of idiomatic expression used in welcoming guest ceremony. The data of this research is found from videos on YouTube about welcoming guest ceremony. The writer used documenter analysis as the research design, a kind of of research under qualitative research in analysis data. The writer analyzed the data based on on seven types of meaning by Leech in Pateda (2010). The result of this study shows that there are thirty four idiomatic expressions, consist of four types of meaning,-ied est conceptual meaning, connotative meaning, affective meaning, and reflected meaning, with each examples, conceptual meaning; ama, bunga, benang, wato, tana, lema, ina, connotative meaning; sampe wulan haka matan, kowa hadi lera deka ekan kuma, tukan kuma heba me’an, puken bekata lolon botuna, uhune kemuan matane tobo ta’a, affective meaning; ake poro koli geto, ake gon tana lagan, lein ha’e kirin ha’e no holo ha’ato, lugu pai sadan wulim, and reflected meaning; ama belen pulo kae, ribu lein lau ratu lema weran rae, mo geroe gaha gapen tana langu. It was found that connotative meaning is dominanted in those four types of meaning. Based on the findings, the writer suggested for English learner, especially Lamaholot language user, to conduct further study about types of meaning in Lamaholot language to enrich lexical ability.
