Penulisan ini berfokus pada makna dan fungsi lagu sumba penelitian ini adalah semua lirik dan kalimat dari tiga lirik lagu sumba penulisan menggunakan metode kualitatif, dimana datanya ada pada lirik ketiga lagu yang memeliki makna dalam liriknya data dianalis secara kualitatif berdasarkan analisis diketahui bahwa dua jenis makna yang yang satu ini yaitu makna lexical dan kontextual, sedangkan fungsi lagu adalah mendidik, menghibur dan menasehati sebagai nilai moral

The title of this research is “An Analysis on the Context of Situation of Tamtoet Bife’Ceremony (Asking for Marriage) in Uab Meto Language in Taebenu Subdistrict” Contains an analysis and discussion of context of situation in the process of asking for marriage. The aim of the research is to find out and to describe the context of situation in the process of tamtoet bife ceremony ( Asking for Marrige ) by the people in Taebenu Subdistrict. A descriptive qualitativ method was applied for this purpose. In finding the date, observation was done on 9th on November 2022. While doing the observation, the researcher recorded the process of asking for marriage. The context of situation such as field ,tenor, and mode, furthermore , in the process of tamtoet bife’. The field of the text is A process of asking for marriage which more emphasize in the family meeting. There were 2 main speaker in the tenor of the ctext .While the mode was using more spoken because this is the dialogue. The structure of the text starts from BO (Bargaining Opening), BC (Bargaining Content) and BCL( Bargaining Closure). Based on the date analysis it is suggested that lectures should teach materials related to context of situation, especially dealing with cultural/ritual. Process such as asking for marriage to enrich student’s knowledge and for the culture’s elder to show introduce every kind of culture processes to the young generatio

ABSTRACT "Efforts of Christian Religious Education Teachers at Kanatang 1 Junior High School in Preserving the Regional Language of East Sumba" Horung F (*) Nuban Timo E (**) Metboki M(**) This study aims to find out what efforts are made by Christian Religious Education teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Kanatang in preserving the regional language of East Sumba, Kanatang sub-district, East Sumba district. This research was conducted in June 2022. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Kanatang. With the number of respondents, 2 teachers of Christian Religion, and 10 students were observed. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. From the results of research and data processing obtained from interviews and observations that have been analyzed Christian Religious Education teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Kanatang conduct contextual learning which is seen as an effort to preserve the regional language of East Sumba, including; 1). Collaborating on learning activities and regional languages in the Learning Implementation Plan; 2). Teaching students to pronounce and understand the Regional Language (Prayer, Song, 10 Laws, Apostles' Creed and the names of the Old Testament/New Testament books); 3). Translate God's saving work through Bible verses. Judging from historical studies, current efforts are being made as an effort to contextualize Christian Religious Education through local languages. But now these efforts are carried out as an effort to maintain cultural values as self-identity of students in the face of bad influences from the current development of the times. The efforts made by the PAK teacher are still at the stage of reading, writing and memorizing texts that already exist and all texts are sourced from the Bible in the regional language of East Sumba and Ludu Pamalangu (East Sumba Song of Praise). ABSTRACT Epafras Blegur, Tiarma Marpaung, Zuvyati Aryani Tloanen This study studied the development of students' writing skills through Contextual teaching in class VIII SMP Swasta Swadaya Tarus. The purpose of this research is to find out whether Contextual Teaching can improve students' skills in writing descriptive text. The research used is quantitative research, the teaching method used is pictures. This study used a pre-experimental design in this study. Class VIII SMP Swasta Swadaya Tarus School who took part in the class were 42 students of Class A and B as the population and further divided into 21 students of class B as the sample. Data collection was obtained using tests, pre-tests and post-tests. When data collection techniques are found by calculating the average score on the pre-test and post-test. The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test with an average pre-test score of 34.85 and a post-test of 77.61. Based on this, students' vocabulary mastery increased by 77.61 points. The hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This shows that the use of media images in writing can improve students' writing skills. The research question has been answered.

This research entitled Semantic Analysis On Contextual Meanings Of Ata Ratu’s Songs In The Kambera Language. Based on the songs of Ata Ratu in general, this study aims to to find out the contextual meanings of Ata Ratu’s songs in theKambera language. This study uses qualitative methods to find out the results. The researchers carry out the necessary data collection activities followed by processing the data with the specified techniques. The results of data analysis and interpretation showed that in the lyrics of Ata Ratu’s songs there are contextual meanings that are : (1) Context of Organs. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu “Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”,(S2), Daningu Anda Monungu “No Hope”, (S5). (2) Context of Situation. Songs title: Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”, (S2), Ndana Peku Palanja Nggau “Not Ready to Leave You”, (S3), Daningu Anda Monungu“ No Hope”, (S5). (3) Context of Purpose. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu“Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Rimanya Na Wikinda “Take care of Ourselves”, (S2), Ndana Peku Palanja Nggau “Not Ready to Leave You”, (S3), Hadangu Kata Pahada Belinya Na Ngguti Na Kalaratunda“Rise up so we can revive, protect and sustain our customs and culture”, (S4). (4) Mood Context of Speaker or Listener. Songs title: Mbawa Rimangu Na Annanduma Lurimu “Be careful in making a living”, (S1), Ndana Peku Palanja Nggau “Not Ready to Leave You”, (S3), Daningu Anda Monungu“ No Hope”, (S5). (5) Context of Place. The title of this research is An Analysis on the Situation context of Zaiso, (A traditional culture) by Wewewanese in Southwest Sumba. This research aims to find out the field, tenor, and mode of Zaiso. The method used in this research is the Descriptive Method. The writer uses interviews and observation as instruments to collect data. Observation is done when the process of Zaiso tooks place in the village. There were two native speakers chosen as the informants by recordied their speeches. All the data gained were analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method, in which it focused on field, tenor, and mode. Based on the Analysis, it was found out that the field of Zaiso was something happened namely someone who died unnaturally, the tenor of Zaiso were the Ratos (the leader of the ceremony), Host and homefolk. The leader of the ceremony (Rato) second Rato assisted the first rato in repeating the chants for all the people who come in the process of Zaiso celebrating and the ritual was extended to dialogue and chanting. and the mode of Zaiso was the spoken language of Wewewa in which it trealied in the use of textual theme namely, theme and rheme.

This study discussed about An Analysis of Lexical and Contextual Meanings of “Nekmese Tafen Pah’’ song lyric. Semantic is the branches of linguistics. Therefore, the writer was interested in analyzing the kinds of meaningsof‘’Nekmese Tafen Pah’’ song lyric. The problem of this study (1) What are the lexical and contextual meanings of ‘’Nekmese Tafen Pah’’ song lyric? (2) What are the dominant types of ‘’Nekmese Tafen Pah’’ song lyric? The writer takes lyrics song from the album. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method because the writer would analysis and interpret the research object of Eddy D. Tahoni lyric song. The step to obtain the data is by collecting sources of the data from Eddy D. Tahoni lyric song and from internet. After that she selects the songs which contain of semantic, reads and listen to the lyric to understand the content of the songs conducts and analyzes the collected data and makes conclusion. The result of this research is as follows: (1) related to the lexical meaning, while (2) related to the contextual meaning. The result of this study showed that there are 31 sentences that categorized as lexical meaning, 11 sentences of contextual meaning, 10 sentences of grammatical meaning, 26 sentences of conceptual meaning, 23 sentences of dennotative meaning ant the last is only 5 sentences for connotative meaaning. The writer expects this research will be usefull for the other researchers who are eager to know more about semantics. Moreover, semantic is an important branch of linguistics that is interesting to be studied, especially when it is applied to literary works, such us songs or poem etc.
