ABSTRACT This research was conducted under the title “TEACHERS POSITIVE PUNISHMENT AND REWARD IN LEARNING ENGLISH SKILL AT SMP N 10 KOTA KUPANG “ This study aimed to find out: (1) the kinds of Punishment used by the Teachers at the SMP N 10 Kota Kupang (2) the kinds of reward used by the Teachers at the Smp N 10 Kota Kupang. This study used Descriptive Qualitative Research Design. The instrument which was used to collect the data was indepth interview. The data was collected from all of the English Teacher at Smp N 10 Kota Kupang. The result of the interview showed that there were three kinds of punishment that were used by the Teacher in the classroom, namely physical punishment,word and sentence,inconvenient punishment Meanwhile, reward used by Teacher were praise, privileges,gift and sign of appreciation .The results of the interview show that the reward and punishment from teachers bring the positive impact through the students in learning English . moreover, it also can increase their motivation and interest in learning.

This study is about Students perception of the use of social media in learning English. The writer conducted this study under the title “A STUDY ON STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON SOCIAL MEDIA TO LEARN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AT SMA ADVENT NUSRA.
A. It is what is students’ perception on the use of social media to learn English. There were twenty students of SMA Advent Nusra involved in this study. To attain the aims of this study. The data collected were analyzed using qualitative descriptions. The findings reveal that students have three views on social media experienced during
online learning through social media, namely students' views on the use of social media while studying, students' views on how to learn through social media, and students' views on learning English as a foreign language through social media.

The title of this writing “Teachers’ strategies in improving the students’ creativity in learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat” The research problems of the study were: What are teachers‟ strategies in improving the students‟ creative in learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat? The aim of this study was to find out teachers‟ strategies in improving the students‟ creative learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat. The method used in this writing is qualitative method. The data of this resarch is taken from SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat. The result of this study showed that strategies that used by teachers in improving the students‟ creativity in learning English at SMPN 3 Amarasi Barat are namely: autocratic strategies, Group Discussion, Students Presentation and Brainstorming. The suggestion of this study is the English teacher should be able in choosing what strategies in teaching English relevant to with the students‟ ability needs and interests

ABSTRACT
A COMPARATIVE STUDY ON THE ENGLISH LEARNING ABILITY OF STUDENTS IN GRADE XII OF SCIENCE MAJOR AND LANGUAGE MAJOR AT SMA EFATA SOE DURING ONLINE LEARNING
The aims of this study are to know the differences and similarity of achievement outcomes between Science major and Language major students and to describe and compare which one major of the students that have the most ability in learning English. Quantitative research was used as the method of this research with population in grade XII science major and language major class, as a sample that is science major class consists of 30 students and language major class consists of 30 students. The documentation technique was used to collect the data to complete this study. Analysis the data by using calculate the average ability students and classify students’ score based on the ability level of students. The result of this study shows the ability in learning English of students in science major get 100% or 30 students have good ability in knowledge and skills, with the highest score is 93 and the lowest score is 84. The most students get a score of 86, students get the score in very high/advance level (81-100), the average score is 88.While the ability in learning English of language major students have 60% or from 30 students get the highest score is 92 and the lowest score is 76. The most students get a score of 76, with the average score is 80. For two types assessment in K13 program, 60% score of knowledge and 63,3% score of skills in as high/intermediate level (61-80), and then 40% score of knowledge and 36,7% score of skills in very high level (81-100). So, 60% students in language major have intermediate level ability, and 40% students have advance level ability in learning English. The ability to learning English for students in Science major is better or higher than ability to learning English of students in language major.
