AN ANALYSIS OF TRANSLATION PROCEDURES ON THE BOOK OF MARK NEW TESTAMENT IN KUPANG MALAY ABSTRACT This thesis entitled “an analysis of translation procedures on the book of mark new testament in kupang malay‟‟. The translation is extremely beneficial, especially for those who are unable to speak or understand a foreign language. Translation procedures were the tools for transferring meaning from one language to another language. The writer created the research problems as follows: (1) what were the types of translation procedures found in the book of Marks in Kupang Malay? (2) What were the meanings of sentences based on translation procedure found in the book of Marks in Kupang Malay? Aims of the study namely:To find out the types procedures of translation on the bookmark in Kupang Malay, to find out the meanings of sentences based on translation procedures on the book of Marks in the Kupang Malay. In this study the writer use descriptive qualitative analyse, this study the writer found 7 types of procedures translation namely: borrowing, calque, literal or word for word, transposition, modulation, equivalence, adaptation. The procedure for translation on the Book of Mark New Testament The most widely used is modulations, adaptations and literal or word for word and types of meaning in translation namely: grammatical meaning, referential meaning, connotative meaning. AN ANALYSIS OF CODE SWITCHING USED KUPANG MALAY AND INDONESIAN LANGUAGE ON TESEDE RADIO PROGRAM IN VERBUM KUPANG ABSTRACT Student, Supervisor1, Supervisor2, (Erli Metilda Pitay) (Erny S.N. Hambandima S.Pd., M.Pd) (June A. Jacob S.Pd., MA) This research studies an analysis of code switching using kupang malay and indonesian language on tesede radio program in verbum kupang. Based on this research, there are two research problems: to describe the types of code switching used kupang malay and Indonesian language on tesede radio program in verbum kupang and to find out the function of code switching used kupang malay and Indonesian language on tesede radion program in verbum Kupang. The research method is note-taking. This study uses qualitative research. For analysis, the author watches the video. Based on this research design, there are four research procedures used to collect data. The first is recording the video; the second is watching and transcribing; the third is identifying, classifying, and interpreting the data; and finally, reporting the results of the data. The research results show that there are three types of code switching, namely: 1) tag switching, 2) intersentential, and 3) intra-sentential. Found six functions of code switching, such as: 1) interjection; 2) massage qualificatio; 3) reiterations; 4) addressee specifications; 5) quotations; and 6) personalization or objectivity. This research is expected to provide an introduction to code switching and sociolinguistics for people who read it.

The title of this writing is "A Discourse Analysis of Illocutionary Acts in Kupang Malay Language Bible of Gospel of Luke". The research conducted to answer questions: 1. What are the types of illocutionary acts in Kupang Malay Language Bible of Gospel of Luke? 2. What are the functions of illocutionary acts in Kupang Malay Language Bible of Gospel of Luke? In orderbto get the data, the writer took from Gospel of Luke of Kupang Malay Language Bible. The instrument used in this research is documentary. The writer hopes this writing could give many valuable contributions to build up Kupang Malay Language. The result of the data analysis shows that Kupang Malay Language Bible has five types and four functions of illocutionary acts. 1). Types of illocutionary acts: a). representatives: Batul, bu! Pi su, ko bekin iko. b). directives: Bapa Guru, e. Tolong lia beta pung ana laki-laki satu biji doo! c). commissives: Beta janji! Ini hari ju, lu maso pi dalam sorga sama-sama deng Beta! d). expressives: Orang yang kana susa tagal iko sang Beta, Manusia Tulen ni! Bosong ontong. e). and declaratives : Dari beta pung hati yang paling dalam, beta angka nae tinggi-tinggi sang Tuhan! 2). ABSTRACT This research about an analysis of imperative sentences in Kupang malay daily communication. To support this study the writer used theory of Swan (1982:77). The other theory that the writer used come from Quirk and Greenbaum (1973:200-202). The reserach problems of this study are what are the types of imperative sentences in Kupang malay and how are the form of impertive sentences in Kupang malay.The aims of this study to find out the types and the form of imperative sentences in Kupang malay. Descriptive qualitative method is apllied in this research. The object of this study is Kupang Malay. There are four types of imperative sentences, namely : imperative sentences as a command, imperative sentences as a request, imperative sentences a direction and imperative sentences as prohibition. There are five form of imperative sentences such as :imperative sentences without subject, imperative sentences with subject, imperative sentences with Let, negative imperative sentences and persuasive imperative sentence. The data was collected by watching the videos from Youtube and transcribe, then translate it into English, specify into the types and the form of imperative sentences. After analyzing the data the writer found forty one data of imperative sentences used in kupang malay, that consist of : eleven of imperative sentences as a command, twenty three of imperative sentences as a request, and seven of imperative sentences as a prohibition. The the writer also found twenty three data as formof imperative sentences in kupang malay, which is consist of : six imperative sentences without subject, four imperative sentences with subject, two imperative sentences with Let, six negative imperative sentences and four persuasive imperative sentence.
