AN ANALYSIS ON ROLE PLAY METHOD APPLIED BY TEACHERIN TEACHING ENGLISH
In learning process at the level of Senior High school specially of English subject, it’s difficult for students in learning if the teacher apply the learning method is not effective, specially in speaking English. To overcome this problem, the writer interested to do research about An Analysis on Role Play Method Applied By Teacher In Teaching English.Therefore the problem formulated is what are the steps of role play method applied by teacher in teaching English. The aims of this study is to find out what are the steps of role play method applied by teacher in teaching English. Based on the results of research obtained from both of video, shows there is a difference on steps which is use by teacher in applied role play method. On the first video, the teacher applied the procedure of role play method consist of : (1) preparation and instrution consist of : warm up,explaining the participant role and explaing the audience role (2) Dramatic action and Discussion (3) and the last evaluation but the teacher does not explaining general situation. While on the second video, there are steps that are not done by the teacher that is : explaing audience roles and discussion. Based on analysis data, it can be concluded that role playing method which has been applied by the teacher in teaching English. Role play method can increase students interest and attention, so students activities in the learning process are more active. Therefore, the role playing method is appropriate for a teacher to use in teaching English. From this study the writer recommends the steps that must be applied by teacher in teaching English that is : (1) preparation and instrution consist of : warm up, explaining the general situation,explaining the participant role and explaing the audience role (2) Dramatic action and Discussion (3) and evaluation.
