ABSTRAK PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN LUMUT DAUN (Bryopsida) SEBAGAI MEDIA TANAM TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI TANAMAN CABAI MERAH (Capsicum annuum L.) Hailitik, E.T.)* Rupidara, A.D.N.)** Solle, H.R.L.)** Media tanam merupakan media yang mengandung unsur hara yang dibutuhkan untuk tanaman dapat bertumbuh dan berkembang. Komponen media tanam adalah tanah dan bahan organik. Lumut memiliki sifat yang menyerupai spons yakni dapat menyimpan air dan berfungsi untuk menjaga kelembaban serta sebagai absorban. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1). mengetahui pengaruh media tanam lumut yang mengandung unsur hara terhadap parameter pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman cabai merah, 2). untuk mengetahui komposisi jenis media mana yang memberikan hasil paling baik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi cabai merah. Jenis penelitian yakni penelitian eksperimen dengan RAL dengan 4 jenis perlakuan dengan komposisi lumut yang berbeda yaitu perlakuan 1 (kontrol = 0 gram lumut + 2 kg tanah) perlakuan 2 (25%,125 gram lumut + 2 kg tanah) perlakuan 3 (30%, 150 gram lumut + 2 kg tanah) perlakuan 4 (35%, 175 gram lumut + 2 kg tanah). Sampel terdiri dari 20 pohon cabai merah pada setiap polybag ditanam 1 pohon dengan jumlah ulangan 5 dan jumlah total polybag 20 buah. Analisis data menggunakan uji One Way Anova dan uji lanjut Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media tanam lumut berpengaruh nyata pada tinggi tanaman dengan nilai F 3,822 > α0,05 3,24, diameter batang dengan nilai F 4,1276 > α0,05 3,24, sedangkan hasil uji Anova menunjukan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun dengan nilai F 0,43 α0,05 3,24 dan jumlah buah dengan nilai F 0,59 α0,05 3,25. Komposisi lumut yang optimal untuk tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang dan jumlah buah cabai merah adalah pada perlakuan 4 dengan komposisi media 175g lumut : 2kg tanah. Hailitik, E.T.)* Rupidara, A.D.N.)** Solle, H.R.L.)** Planting media is a medium that contains the nutrients needed for plants to grow and develop. The components of the planting medium are soil and organic matter. Moss has properties that resemble a sponge, which can store water and function to maintain moisture and as an absorbent. This study aims to 1). determine the effect of mossy-planted mution containing the nutritional to the growth parameters and production of red chili crops, 2). to know the composition of which type of media that delivers the best results to growth and red chili production. This type of research is the experimental research with RAL with 4 types of treatment with different moss composition of treatment 1 (control = 0 grams of moss + 2 kg of soil) treatment 2 (25%, 125 grams of moss + 2 kg soil) treatment 3 (30%, 150 grams moss) + kg soil) treatment 4 (35%, 175 grams moss) + kg soil). The sample consists of 20 red chili trees on every polybag planted 1 tree with the number of replication 5 and the total number of polybag 20 pieces. Data analysis using One Way Anova test. The results showed that the composition of the moss growing media had a significant effect on plant height with a significant value F 3.822> α0,05 3.24, stem diameter with a significant value F 4.1276> α0,05 3.24, but had no significant effect on the number of leaves F 0.43 α0,05 3.24 and the number of fruits F 0.59 α0,05 3.25. The optimal composition of moss for plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter and number of red chilies was in treatment 4 with a media composition of 175g moss : 2kg soil.
