[email protected] Background: The learning process is a process in which there are interaction activities between teacher-students and reciprocal communication that takes place in educative situations to achieve learning goals (Rustaman, 2001:461). Law No. 20 of 2003 concerning the national education system Chapter 1 Article 1 states: Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills that are needed by himself, the people of the nation and the State”. Research objective: The purpose of this study was to find out the learning process of throwing and catching small balls. Research method: It was carried out using a descriptive research method and type of approach. The research was conducted on school principals, 1 physical education teacher and 5 grade III students at SD GMIT Bonipoi 3456 Kupang. Data collection techniques are by observation, interviews, and documentation Result and discussion: The results showed that students felt happy in learning to throw and catch small balls and students could also cooperate well and try and train hard to be able to follow or apply techniques in throwing and catching baseball. The learning process of throwing and catching a ball is the teacher's choice pattern for designing appropriate learning by developing gross motor, fine motor, locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative movements to achieve the expected learning objectives based on the syllabus and lesson plans.. Conclusion: The learning process of throwing and catching a ball can be concluded that learning to throw and catch a ball really helps students in learning that is achieved by children, as well as makes it easier for students to learn and add insight with material explanations and direct practice of techniques from learning to throw and catch a ball.
