ABSTRAK PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN ROTATING TRIO EXCHANGE(RTE) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN METAKOGNITIF SISWA PADA MATERI IPA DI KELAS VIII Timung H. Y)* Manu T. S. N)** Meha A. M)** Salah satu masalah yang terdapat di kelas VIII SMPN 17 Kota Kupang adalah rendahnya kemampuan metakognitif dalam proses pembelajaran materi sistem pencernaan, sehingga tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Rotating Trio Exchange terhadap kemampuan metakognitif siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian metode eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian Quasi-experimental design. Dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 52 dan jumlah sampel dua kelas yang terdiri dari siswa kelas VIII-A dan kelas VIII-B, di mana kelas VIII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah siswa 15 orang dan kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 21 orang. Pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes kemampuan metakognitif. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik parametrik, yaitu uji-t dengan bantuan SPSS. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen memiliki perbedaan kemampuan metakognitif. Pada kelas eksperimen, peneliti menggunakan model pembelajaran Rotating Trio Exchange sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan metakognitif siswa di kelas. Hal ini terlihat pada salah satu indikator, yaitu merencanakan, dengan persentase 82,30%. Pada saat guru menjelaskan menggunakan model pembelajaran Rotating Trio Exchange di dalam kelas, siswa terlihat tertarik dan adanya keinginan dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga mampu untuk menyajikan edukasi sistem pencernaan. Sedangkan pada kelas kontrol, peneliti menggunakan buku cetak sehingga siswa terlihat tidak aktif karena merasa jenuh dan bosan. Hal ini dilihat dari indikator yang sama, yaitu merencanakan, dengan persentase 48,30%. Hasil persentase kelas kontrol ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan metakognitif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran menggunakan buku cetak masih rendah. Fakta tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan pada penggunaan model pembelajaran Rotating Trio Exchange terhadap kemampuan metakognitif siswa di kelas VIII SMPN 17 Kota Kupang. M)** One of the problems found in class VIII SMPN 17 Kupang City is the low metacognitive ability in the learning process of digestive system material, so the purpose of this study is to determine the effect of using the Rotating Trio Exchange learning model on students' metacognitive abilities. This study is an experimental method study with a Quasi-experimental design. With a population of 52 and a sample of two classes consisting of class VIII-A and class VIII-B students, where class VIII-A is the experimental class with 15 students and class VIII-B as the control class with 21 students. The sampling used is a purposive sampling technique. Data collection uses a metacognitive ability test. The research data were analyzed using parametric statistical tests, namely the t-test with the help of SPSS. The results of this study state that the control class and the experimental class have differences in metacognitive abilities. In the experimental class, researchers used the Rotating Trio Exchange learning model so that it can improve students' metacognitive abilities in the class. This can be seen in one of the indicators, namely planning, with a percentage of 82,30%.When the teacher explained using the Rotating Trio Exchange learning model in class, students appeared interested and eager in the learning process so they were able to present digestive system education. Meanwhile, in the control class, the researcher used printed books so that students appeared inactive because they felt bored and tired. This can be seen from the same indicator, namely planning, with a percentage of 48,30%. The results of the control class percentage indicate that students' metacognitive abilities in the learning process using printed books are still low. This fact indicates that there is a significant influence on the use of the Rotating Trio Exchange learning model on students' metacognitive abilities in class VIII of SMPN 17 Kota Kupang.
