ABSTRAK KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS GASTROPODA DI PANTAI TERES KECAMATAN AMARASI SELATAN KABUPATEN KUPANG Neno. A. Y)* Daud. Y)** Bullu. N. I)** Gastropoda merupakan hewan bercangkang yang berjalan dengan perut, (gastro: perut, podos: kaki) hewan ini memiliki alat gerak menggunakan perut sebagai kakinya. Gastropoda merupakan kelas dari filum mollusca yang terbesar setelah arthropoda dalam invertebrata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui keanekaragaman jenis gastropoda di pantai Teres Kecamatan Amarasi Selatan Kabupaten Kupang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Line Transect. Sedangkan teknik penentuan lokasi pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Analisa data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan dekskriptif kuantitatif. Berdarsarkan hasil penelitian di pantai Teres, jenis gastropoda yang ditemukan berjumlah 8 famili 13 spesies yaitu spesies Nerita exuvia, Nerita polita, Nerita Semirugosa, Monodonta canalifera, Monodonta labio, Trocus radiatus, Cypraea moneta, Cypraea declivis, Turbo chrysostomus, Strombus urceus, Conus telatus, Gyrineum natator , Clypeomorus petrosa.. Indeks keanekaragaman gastropoda pada transek I, II, III, dan IV di pantai Teres tergolong sedang karena menunjukan nilai H’ = 2,48, sedangkan indeks dominansi tertinggi terdapat pada spesies Nerita exuvia D = 0,08 yang menunjukan bahwa tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa indeks keanekaragaman gastropoda di pantai Teres tergolong sedang. Salah satu bentuk untuk melestarikan keberadaan gastropoda adalah dengan melakukan penelitian lanjutan pada musim yang berbeda tentang sosialisasi upaya pemanfaatan ekosistem gastropoda untuk keberlanjutan populasi ikan laut sebagai tujuan untuk menunjang pendapatan masyarakat sekitar di daerah pesisir pantai. The purpose of this study was to determine the diversity of gastropod species on the Teres coast, Amarasi Selatan District, Kupang Regency. The method used in this study is the Line Transect method. While the technique of determining the location of sampling using purposive sampling. Analysis of the data used in this study using quantitative descriptive. Based on the results of research on Teres beach, the types of gastropods found totaled 8 families, 13 species, namely the species Nerita exuvia, Nerita polita, Nerita Semirugosa, Monodonta canalifera, Monodonta labio, Trocus radiatus, Cypraea moneta, Cypraea declivis, Turbo chrysostomus, Strombus urceus, Conus belatus, Gyrineum natator , Clypeomorus petrosa. Gastropod diversity index on transects I, II, III, and IV on the Teres coast is moderate because it shows a value of H' = 2 .48, while the highest dominance index was found in the species Nerita exuvia D = 0.08. Thus it can be said that the gastropod diversity index on the Teres coast is moderate. One way to preserve the existence of seagrass is to carry out further research at different seasons about socializing efforts to utilize gastropod ecosystems for the sustainability of marine fish populations as a goal to support the income of local communities in coastal areas.
